The beauty of this isn’t just the enthusiasm and natural ease of the teaching method. It is the David Gilmour like instilling of not a wasted note nor wasted space and the Gandalf like wizardry of fingers not being in an unnecessary hurry but arriving precisely when they mean to. It is so nice to see a real blues sound without all the speed picking fluffery of some modern teachers on the intergooglewebnets. Love you man.

I absolutely LOVED that! (I can't do most of it, but it's the kind of thing I want to watch / listen to). You're so British, Dave...lol Somebody else on here said "...keep teaching...it's your calling...". I think they're right.

I like this kind of tutorials! I‘m a noodler with almost no musical theory, old lazy fart just searching on the fretboard what hopefully sounds good. If I get some licks shown, watching the fingers on the fretboard, it helps me a lot... From there I start to alter and modify, playing the notes in different order, or change the emphasize, or mix them with other half licks. Teaching skills of Dave are superior! Slow enough for a greenhorn to follow, but never boring, peppered with advises! Alakitalot!!!😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I am 65 and just learning electric guitar. I think learning from Dave will surely give me a freedom to explore myself and doing all sort of improvisations. He gave me enough materials for being a wanderer and enjoy every moment of my exploration time. He is an excellent teacher!

I won't give my bodily age, but I saw Rory at Southend Kersal In 1974, front row when that man could generate enough renewable energy to power a small city for a month. I've got Dave's first blues lesson under my belt and am now working on the second. I am so grateful for these fantastic tutorials and posts. (note to Andertons Music co). We oldies have money to spend on nice shiny things so look after Dave Simpson well - we buy stuff because of him. Thanks again Mr S! ...Could have been '73 now I think of it.

I LOVE playing the blues! I think I subconsciously absorbed blues guitar from my father playing Clapton records from the time i was a baby. I think its fantastic that you are teaching this form of music for a new generation to help keep it alive. Good on you, Dave!

Loving this. I probably won't play it as such but every move Dave gifts, once the theory snaps in place, lends new avenues of creative inspiration that grow into, and add to the vocabulary when doing our own thing. Respect to you Dave, you are a true Head!

Fantastic. You are an inspiration. Not only have you got me learning the blues with more structure but also with more feeling about how the tune is going, rather than scale noodling. Also your lessons are great inn bringing in other notes outside of one scale position, it's helping to bring it all together. Cheers.

Hi Dave, a little off topic but I really enjoyed your Anderson's interview. You really spoke like you play... From your heart. One of the best interviews of top players they have done. On with the lesson...
@alexandrebier45813 жыл бұрын
Dave, I loved part I, and was hoping for a part II. I'm 34, never had a single guitar lesson, been playing on my own since I was 15/16. Your 'play like Green/Hendrix/Gallagher' series made me realize how much better off I would have been if I did get lessons in the past. But this is it. I wait on your vids, I wait on your lessons, you are my teacher and you don't even know it. And a great one at that! I steal licks from you (or try to) and try and get better. Mental health has always been an issue for me, since I was, well... 15/16, and music, and guitar and guitarists make it bearable. I will be waiting on part III. I will be practicing on merging the first and second lessons and I will be, if not happy, a lot more content, because of you. Because the time and effort you put on these. Cheers, from Brazil!
