We have shona tribe here in Kenya who originated from zimbambwe...even if they adopted Kenyan local languages like kikuyu... They still follow their traditional shona way

@@Ara-Em Yes, I've been following their story. They went to Kenya some decades ago for a church convention, in the 50s, then encountered problems and never returned. Until some of them grew old and died, those who were young grew, had kids but maintained their Shona traditions. So yes they have a vibrant Shona community there, even though a lot of them were born there. They were stateless all these decades until the Kenyan govt recognised their Status and issued them Kenyan citizenship officially and Shona has now been recognised as a language in Kenya.

I'm from Zimbabwe and this took me back home. I am however from the Ndebele tribe and some of our dances were missed but we originate from the Zulu so I'm sure some would be covered in South African ones. Thank you for this one still ❤️

In Zim we traditionally carry water buckets on our heads. Without using hands. Even carrying babies on our backs. Its a balancing skill. Thats why its easy for dancers to dance whilst carrying the items on their heads.

Interestingly for the dance you said reminds you of children playing is actually a mating/ celebration of fertility dance🙈 . Which explains the move at the end of each sequence. As a Zimbabwean women l too wish l could balance pots my head l envy those who can . Oh and yes the ladies do wear shakers on their legs. I wish they had showcased the diverse tribes .
