the further away you get from downtowm copenhagen, the cheaper life gets.. I can well afford my 2 bedroom appartment in my small hometown, far away from downtown copephagen. rent and utillities are about 700 USD a month for this nice little slice of heaven on earth I am living in. And it is an exphensive appartment for this town.
@SimonRaahauge19738 күн бұрын
the upfront rent and the security payment get partially repaid when you move out, depending of how well you have treated your appartment.

Happy new year from Denmark 🎉 You asked earlier what about dogs, and i want to say that we do love dogs in Denmark, they becomes a part of the family here 😊 I think the rent she Pays is one of the more expencive ones, but of course she live in a brand new building and really close to the middle of Copenhagen so the rent is really expencive. You can get much cheaper rent or bigger houses/apartments for the same price if you dont live in the middle of Copenhagen. I live on Fyn and i pay 910 dollars, for a 1010 square feet apartment and it is newly renovated from top to buttom, i only payed 3 months of rent as the deposit for the apartment, so there is different ways ftom landlord to landlord 😊 I prefer to be here, because i am not really a big city kind of person 😅 But if i want to, then i have a 5 min walk to the train station where i can take the train to copenhagen in 1 hour and 15 min and even faster if i take the car on the highway 😊 Or i could go to Odense in 20 min, or Århus in 1 hour and 15 min so i go there if i want to go to a bigger city, but I love when i get back to Fyn 😁

Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing! You’re paying a good amount. We tend to choose areas that are not near the city center. Most times, we get more bang for our buck.

2100 USD for rent in Copenhagen is pretty high, they live in a pretty new flat and they live in the most expensive city zone in Denmark. If you live 20min outside Copenhagen you´ll pay half that...

Almost all Danes under 67 speak English. If you need a lot of space for your family, find a home at least 1 hour's drive from Copenhagen city center
@JesperSandgreen4 күн бұрын
Alot above 67 does too... My grandmother is 80, she had english in school... But back then they did´t learn english from the start (1 grade), back in those days they started english in the higher grades, most people did´t go to school above the 7. grade.

Usually, if you have lived in an apartment for more than 5 years, you are not supposed to pay for the preparation for the next renter. And in that case you will get all your deposit back.
@1stCainite8 күн бұрын
Generally you have to pay for having the apartment brought back to the condition it was in when you rented it. It is a common misconception that the renter have to take off 12% of the reestablishment bill per year of tenancy, but that is only true for public housing (alment nyttige boliger). There was a change to the tenancy laws in 2015, that changed the burden of proof for the need for reestablishment onto the renter, but if your landlord knows what they are doing that burden is easy to uphold. Source, I work as a real-estate administrator.

The 4 biggest cities Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg will all give you big city vibe. But maybe get More for your buck in the other cities. Or More a little bit futtet away from the city center also considering having spare for children and dog

As a Dane I would say Copenhagen is very expensive compared to the rest of the country. In Odense about 100km's from Copenhagen the prices are about a 3rd of living in Copenhagen. Having said this the pay in Copenhagen is higher then the rest of the country.

Braggin about living in Nyhavn do not sit well with the danes. - Showing off your house, your car, your big diamond weddingring or your fat paycheck is not something you do here. Braggin in any form is frowned upon, and youl quickly become social isolated or atleast very limited if its a pattern. Especially in this time we live in, you dont walk in and say; look at me, I have this extemely sought after piece of property that most danes cant afford anymore. The vids youre reacting to is in many ways a short lesson of what NOT to do in denmark. Be humble plz, we dont like loud showboats.

Not every landlord has those prices or deposits that you have to pay. Where is the building (tourist or a big city), what kind of sustainability does it have (something with environmental nonsense) etc etc.. If you look here in the Netherlands you pay more rent and deposit if you rent through an agent and especially in the capital compared to a housing association. If you were to rent in Osted (near Copenhagen) you would pay a lot less of course. But honestly, I think Denmark is a beautiful country and they can speak good English, also a little German.

Bikes can ride in a cargo bike or a basket. As for public transport, they travel for free if you keep it in a bag. So if you see dogs in bags at railwaystations and bus stops, it's not because they can't walk 🤣 Else you pay a child's ticket - it's half price. Happy New Year.

with a population of 5,7 millions, we have well over 1 million dogs in denmark. a good wealth distribution means that a loooot of people can afford a dog, or even a horse.. or a part of a horse.

As a dane living in copenhagen, i find the deposit for apartments more and more ridicoulous. Not everyone can bring up such a big amount of money in one go. But the market has gone out of hand, and people are desperate, so they find a way to pay. Back in 2001 in was so much easier to find something that didn't break the bank. Myself is living in another apartment type, called the "share part apartment" which is it the midway of ownning your own flat. A group of people co-own a building with several apartments, and then get their own apartment to use. I paid a price 100.000 usdollars for my share Besides that we all pay a monthly contribution to maintain the building, pay of the loan on the building etc. I pay 600 dollars a month. If i want, i can sell my share again for the same price. So the price is fixed, but it just seems more fair in the long run. All it needs is a that someone takes responsibility for the economy. Share part apartments are very popular but they are rare.
