I survived one of the worst Hurricanes in Hawaii, back in the late 90's. I was 9 months pregnant at the time. I was in a very long line to get gas. Well, the military walked by and saw I was pregnant. So, they brought the gas to me and filled my tank. So, I was able to get out of the long line. I certainly appreciated their help. They had to walk back and forth many times to fill my tank!

I went outside while the Hurricane eye was above. It was so calm inside the eye, but weird to hear the winds going around. Then Iniki hit us twice. It reversed and hit us a second time. I saw carports collapse on cars, I saw roofs fly by. It was very scary. But we did have a place to go underground but no doors! I was also helped by the Red Cross. They provided me with a bunch of MRE's. I was grateful.

Jake Ben & LE are like an energizer bunny. They're hopping from one farm to another. Just wherever they are needed. Paw Paw & GiGi have the best grandkids when it comes to helping out the family. A cooling cloth, wet cloth around the neck & over the head helps regulate body heat. Rejoice that you all got alot accomplished. Hydrate, rest & eat

All the wood is in pawpaws pasture near his barn. If Cus knows his woods and has the chainsaws to break down the large pieces of wood, he could go get it. The wood has to age, I’m not an expert but I’m sure it needs to be totally dried out.

I hate that anyone has to go through any storm or natural disaster, been through quite a bit of hurricanes myself, but to be torn from a well deserved vacation sucks big time. On the plus side, everyone is safe & you still have your home. I guess I don't need to tell you how lucky you are with the heat exhaustion. I had no clue, drove from Tx to La & not long after I was in the hospital for 5 days because I was dehydrated & had heatstroke. This can damage your heart. Taking care of yourself is a small thing to do to be able to see your boys grow up & flourish & to grow old with Steph. Yard looks much better now. 👩‍🦳🙏💜

Stephanie, I had to rip out all the carpet in my mom’s basement by myself when it flooded in a torrential rain storm. My mom was in a nursing home and I had to get her house ready to sell. Watching you all work, I do not know how I was able to get it done at 75 years old. I had just been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and was not in good shape physically or emotionally. You all are awesome!

Living in Southeast Alabama I've been through many Hurricanes and tropical storms in my 64 years. Even with the devastation I would never think of moving. We've lost power for 2 weeks and it really makes you appreciate electricity. Praying things improve rapidly for all of you.
