Hi Laura. We honestly had a great time there. It has it's faults as most places do but some of the complaints are ridiculous. I'm so glad we picked there for our first trip to Mexico and hope you enjoy as much as we did 😎

We are thinking of booking here but are so nervous because of the bad reviews, but after watching your blogs I think people maybe just being picky. Well I hope so, as it’s an expensive trip and we don’t want to waste our money 🤯 what month did you go? We are looking at mid July even though people have said it’s hurricane season 😂

Hey great reviews, I've watched a few now and they pretty much tipped the scale for us to book 10 days here later this fall. At the breakfast buffet, do they have a Mimosa and Bloody Mary/Ceasar station? And do the serve alcoholic beverages in the AM, such as the above mentioned or Bailey's/Kahlua for your coffee? Also did I hear you right that you need to go down and cue an hour before they even open to start taking reservations? Thanks

They do indeed have a Mimosa station immediately outside of the buffet. I'm not sure about alcohol in coffee as neither of us drink it. The only time you have to get up and queue is for the Tepanyaki dining but personally we found the food in the main section of the restaurant massively superior.

From.the UK and considering staying at the hotel this summer. Seems an excellent choice apart from the apparently serious issue of reserving restaurants unless paying for the star class upgrade. Many reviews mention all reservations are taken by star class members or staff going round during the day, selling $60 bottles of wine promising a restaurant reservation with it. Considering the price of the hotel I would not be treated as a 'second class' guest having to eat in the buffet restaurants the whole of our stay due to this issue. I would appreciate any comments on this particular subject.

Hi, we honestly didn't have an issue but we did tend to eat early (when the restaraunts opened). It may be more difficult at peak times but im sure they give out a buzzer and you can wait with a drink until your table is ready. We weren't Star Class but didn't feel that was an issue. Hope this helps

Hi again just a couple more questions about the resort planet hollywood. Is the WiFi any good? As iam thinking of turning of data roaming? Also how far away are the shops or malls and is there a bus from the hotel to them?regards Martin

Hi Martin. The wifi was very, very good even down on the beach. Unfortunately the shops/ malls etc of Cancun are far away and taxis are expensive. I don't know about the bus service Unfortunately. The location is one of the only downsides of the resort for me.

We were happy with what we got but if your budget allows for it then an upgrade would be good. The star class pool area and grill looked lovely and you could get dinner reservations 🙂
