It was honestly over for him once the allegations came out in the early 90s. Before that point, he just had to contend with his physical issues from the constant dancing, along with his burns. After that, he had to contend with MUCH more. The vitriol was complex and completely unavoidable for MJ. Everyone seems to have this idea that a downfall is instantaneous. It rarely is.

"This Is It" is Michael's most recent material, and the most modern, it could bring great insight to a younger audience and fans also discover things that are almost never told about the 2009 rehearsals.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand what changed so dramatically with Michael between 2000 and 2001? In the video where he accompanies Elizabeth Taylor, I see the look of the same Michael as in the 80s and 90s, but take for example the concert in honor of the 30th anniversary of his solo career, Michael is completely different there, and even his eyes is not the same as before.

Because unfortunately he was high as a kite at the 30th anniversary celebration. Very influenced by prescription at that time. But that was only a very short period of Michael's life, he did have problems then, but he was never a "junkie" who was using drugs to have fun or get intentionally high. He had to function under incredible pressure during some periods of time and couldn't cope without medication. Very understandable.
