I have a 2010 CRV, cloth interior, and cleaning the carpets and seats are terrible. We have a Fox Red Labrador and he sheds like crazy. The carpet holds so much dog hair that it drives us crazy. Cleaning the seats with a firm brush, vacuum, Bissell or even a Tornador takes forever. I thought that it was just me but apparently it's the material lol. I remove all four/five seats and have considered just changing the rear seat/trunk carpet to something else.

I have a 2014 CRV and two dogs. I thought I was crazy because vacuuming took me the longest anytime I detailed. The only way I found to keep as much dog hair off the carpets and seats as I can is to put the dogs in kennels in the car and put car seat covers underneath the kennels. It cuts my work easily in half.

I agree. I am a single and only parent of two small kids and am disabled on top of that, and my car has never looked like these cars do. Some people are just not in the habit of putting things where they belong I guess? Or maybe they should try keeping a little plastic grocery bag for trash in there to make it easier.. and just replace that when needed. I know everyone’s story is different, but there are both hard and easy ways to get to the same place.

Wow… what a starting point! I’ve found that a light mist of water on those Honda carpets and a claw attachment during vacuuming will drastically reduce the amount of those tiny grains of sand that act like they are alive and reproducing! Great video, Mitch! 👍👍👍

Great video. I ordered and just received my second batch of microfiber, waffle weave, and the larger plush drying towels. They are AWESOME! Thank you for the great content and the equally great products. Spent about 6 hours detailing my SUV this week. I was aiming for your level of clean and it looks great mostly because of your inspiration and tips…but…man I was exhausted after just this one detail. Huge renewed respect for you, your passion for the work, and your endurance! Enjoy the weekend.

Ok, have you ever dealt with "sticky dash"? I'm doing a heavily neglected vehicle now that has this. Not even kidding, it took me the better part of two weeks to refurbish the dash. I finally found that steam with brush attachment and isopropyl alcohol worked best but still took a very long time to eradicate the thick layer of sticky residue.
@GetMotivated978
@GetMotivated978 2 жыл бұрын
Don't ever use something as strong as isopropyl alcohol to clean a dash board. That can cause more problems then solutions. Always clean with alcohol free, specially designed products for cleaning the inside of a car. That's what they were designed for. Isopropyl alcohol isn't a car cleaning product. Next time try APC, degreaser or some other interior cleaning product.

@@GetMotivated978 thank you for that advice. I did a ton of research on this issue. Granted, I did not verify the source of some of the methods. I saw one guy use Bug & Tar remover, another use Goo Gone and then another use IPA. All these methods worked but the first two took literal hours for a square foot of cleaning. When I coupled the steam/brush/IPA the sticky residue came right off. Luckily, this car is a flip. The dash looks practically brand new now although some of the interior stains will never come out I think it worked out well. But moving forward I'll use a less aggressive agent. Thanks again!

9:15 Hey buddy, you may want to use carpet brush before vacuuming. The brush can collect the dust and debris to one side. It can also lose the dirt from thin carpet. Cheers!

Nice work as always. You've proven that with time and patience, the art of polishing turds is possible. Question...not for this car but, like the Escalade, to presoak the interior have you ever thought it would be easier and more effective to just crack a window and fill the car up with a garden hose and solution and then rock the car violently to agitate?
