It's not much different than any major city. You need to be smart about where you go. Especially at night. Is it safe? Well there are areas that are, and a lot that aren't. The reality is most cities and even smaller communities have rough neighborhoods and a heavier concentration of crime. Philly, Wilmington, Baltimore and D.C. have those same reputations. It use to be dismissed as poverty/drug/gang related issue. However, with the increase of mass shootings the past couple of years I think people are beginning to realize it can happen anywhere.

Most everything you're going to want to see is along the harbor, and it's a bit safer there as well. Best neighborhoods are Canton, federal hill and fells point. They have the best bars too. The aquarium is always great. If you like museums, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum is a favorite. And fort McHenry is interesting as well. Near federal hill is the visionary art museum. Also check out federal hill for the best view of the skyline I always take the water taxi across the bay and catch either an Os game or the Ravens. Not familiar with hotels in the area.

@TheDetourDuo2 жыл бұрын
I might not be the most qualified to give you this answer to be honest since I haven't lived there in some time, but from my knowledge the area around the hospital is okay but very close to areas you don't want to be in. Most certainly not at night. There should be officers all around the hospital though. Your best bet is to talk to current staffers there to get the current state of things. But with any city, use your best judgement. try not to go anywhere alone at night and don't go wondering neighborhoods. Johns Hopkins also has a lot of safety protocols, and they are very well-funded in this area. I hope this helps a little!

Around the harbor, Canton, fells point, federal hill are your best bets. Patterson Park is a decent area too. I used to hang out by the stadiums all the time too and the casino is on that end. There are some good restaurants deeper in the city, but you're not missing much staying close to the harbor. There are a lot of good ones in Canton and on Pratt St by the water. Little Italy is right there too if you're looking for Italian food

great video you posted. Thank you. We are thinking of actually moving to the Baltimore area and we were focusing on these two areas, Federal Hill Montgomery and Little Italy. We like something with a nice vibe, access to everything and not rely heavily on transportation. Something like pharmacy, restaurants, food shopping, etc. Steps away from our residents. Of these two locations which one would you prefer? Thank you again for the video. 👍😎
@TheDetourDuo2 жыл бұрын
Personally I'd say Canton. I know it wasn't an option but depending on which part you live, fed hill and little Italy get a lot of traffic from people going to the bars or going to the stadiums. Canton gives you a little bit of everything. Close shopping, bars, still on the water, and relatively close to everything. Plus it's peaceful and quiet for a neighborhood in the middle of a big city. To answer your question, I'd lean federal hill over little Italy for one simple reason. It's much easier to find parking. Cross street market also has good restaurants and shopping and it's right in the heart of fed hill
