Devildog, you have not been using our certified british tactics to their fullest! You need to walk across open fields at the enemy. But you must do this several times. Do this 7 times. It will fail every time, so the enemy won't expect it the eighth time. It is a perfect strategy.

Absolutely AGREE. In fact Arma 3 is a sf war simulator, and for real weapons we must install a lot of moods. VERY rare a milsim server to find... It was TacBF and Ahoy mooded 3 servers but with Tanoa release they are somehow without players. I have switched back to arma 2 and recently to Project Reality...

I absolutly love the stratagy in this game. Like how at the beggining their objective is to clear a farmhouse so a tank can move in, just like an objective in real life. You don't find very many games out there with as good of realistic gameplay.

Think of it like this. Video games give you more fov so you can see around your self. Games like bf3 zoom out so it feels like you have some field of view like real life but armas zoom brings it to what we actually see.

Yes, but dlc is usually made by the same company or published by the same company whereas a mod is more of a user made modification of the game. So yeah technically it is dlc but to not confuse people we use mod.

Wikipedia sums it up nicely for me. in the type of asymmetric warfare which typifies modern conflicts, the enemy often has no respect for the laws of war and may in fact actively target medics (in addition to officers and radio operators), for the significant value they have in keeping the unit combat-effective. Thus, in most modern forces, medics are armed and do not wear large identifying insignia. A rifle or carbine is standard.

lol @ 23:58. the "artillery gun" didn't backfire. it's the overpressure module. if you're near a cannon when it goes off it'll flash your screen. if you're beside or in front of it, it'll knock you down. it doesnt hurt you.

Yes, because canister shells don't kill within five feet, and taking a 120mm to the face is magically healed by defibs. You can take 15 rounds of 5.56 to the chest before dropping, run around with no regard for cover and survive, parachutes are infinitely supplied for any jump, and it takes several anti-tank rounds to disable a tank no matter where it is hit. Did I mention the whole "Everything healed by defibs" part? I admit Battlefield is fun, but it is by no means realistic.

To tell the difference between a Canadian soldier and a British soldier in Normandy, remember that while the uniforms are similar, Canadians had a much greener fabric while British uniforms are brown. The Canadians at D-Day (3rd Division) would also have a blue patch with a golden maple leaf on their shoulder.

Plus that also means that you aren't into simulation games and that is fine that is why they have BF3 for people who don't like realism but still want to shoot stuff. ARMA is for tactics and realism and it definetly delivers in those aspects. So have fun in the unrealistic BF3 and I will be enjoying my realism in ARMA with lots of driving/flying. Not to mention the map is very large which is why they have heli's unlike in BF3 where people use them to fly 10 feet then crash them.

The medics don't spawn in armed, you have to pick weapons up from the box's. Me and DDG were both medics in this mission, which led to some crazy shit when people were dropping like flies in the trenches.

I remember this one mission i made for 1944. It was a swarm of American and German AI Infantry in this small map called Battle of the Bulge. There would be 5 human players on each team with a half track to tour the chaos taking place in the city. Fun Times, Fun Times

Britain was a major part during the starts of the war (1939), and before that. One of the major reasons D-Day could commence was because of bleach let park, which was a base that had highly skilled code breakers that broke the German codes from the mark 2 enigma machines. The British code breakers were able to anticipate where the majority of the German forces were positioned along the coast of Normandy, and target the weakest points. Also, WW2 was a major turning point for the US economy.

So if you by some chance ever make it in the military lets say you some how made it in Infantry the very moment you hear the "cracks" of the bullets going by you you are going to run straight for them under heavy fire and I remember when I was in the military on a few of my reconnaissance missions I remember we rolled around quite a bit on some of them. what he says about DDay not happening is right, as the idea of D Day was to open up a 'second front' (pretty sure it was called that cause the Canadians attempted it in 1942 - before the invasion of Italy), just a little fact about the D Day landings is that it distracted roughly 20% of the Wehrmacht, Italy distracted 5% and the Soviets on the Eastern fronts (this being Russia) distracted 75% of the Axis forces, so D Day was a great contributions to the war as stated...But everyone has to stop

arma 3 isnt just about fps. its also about commanding the whole army. bf4 is implementing a commander feature for anyone. even tablet use. either way, im giving bf4 high hopes personally

Even in BF3 hardcore servers it's still not realistic and in the Military, and hell even any law enforcement company, they teach you to shoot for the center of mass (the chest) and armor doesn't stop the bullet dead in the air it still hits it and most of the time it leaves a dent in the armor and the dent combined with the velocity of the bullet can give you internal bleeding still killing you in one or two shots.

The developers said that the reason there is a third person view is because in real life you have more peripheral vision in real life, so in some aspects it is more realistic.

The US has been invaded several times in history, but in WWII only the Aleutian Islands were invaded. The US did suffer several attacks on its soil through the war. There were the balloon bombs that the Japanese used on the US North West, then the Attack on Pearl Harbor, which is one that drew the US into the war. And there were several U-Boat attacks inside US territorial waters on the east coast.

Yeah field medics were armed in WW2 they only had a side arm in WW1 and then they decided they needed to fight aswell so in WW2 they were given M1s or whatever

Interesting point to note; "30%-35% of the population of the United States that was primarily of German ancestry during the WWI to WWII era". As the Europeans ignored US Pres Wilsons plan of peace (from WW1), American politicians seemed to ignore Europes war (some saw the war as Europes fault). Until Pearl Harbour, America was dealing with the depression. However, as we saw since 2001, war is great for the US ecomony.

Every one has seen the BF3 video where the guy in the jet bails out in the air shoots another jet with Rocket Launcher then climbs back in his jet before it hits the ground and continues to fly away. We play this game because its a better simulated experience, so if you enjoy BF3 better then go play it. We dont play Arma for fun we play it for the challenge. Nuff said.....

Well, that's your opinion, but remember this: BF3 is online FPS-action and ArmA 2 is the closest thing to a military stimulator, so basically you can not compare them, because the two games are completely different, respectively. What can you expect from such a large game? ArmA's version of maps are huge, and everything is detailed. Every game has it's issues, and ArmA has it's fair share. And a game of it's size and caliber will definitely have those minor problems.
