Victimhood is worse than that. Because said self-reported victimhood status ( even if false ) will be reported upon. Which will convince more to believe they are a victim. Which will generate more claims of victim status....ad infinitum. But it gets even worse. People that believe they have been wronged will treat others worse. And others will pick up on that. And treat the person that wronged them worse in return. Which again leads to a self-reinforcing spiral. Victimhood is a never ending maelstrom of bad endings.
@ConversationsWithColby

hopefully more and more people are recognizing this spiral, and that the extreme costs that come along with it far outweigh the perceived payoff of the victim identity..

Born in the slums of the industrial nth of England in 1950. Lived my beautiful life during the greatest period of human history when kids like me were educated and found opportunities for a wonderful life never open to the working classes before in GB. I'm at the end of my wonderful & productive life, looking at a world that paints just one picture for me in 2024...... I see a future where maybe 20,000 of the world's richest people seem to be aiming to reduce our 8billion down to about 2billion. A number they will treat like disposable lab rats, hostaged to serve this obscenely greedy few alone! Is this the final human story of our beautiful Blue Globe ?

Woke-ism has become a strange reverse Animal Farm phenomenon. Some "animals" are more oppressed than others, therefore they deserve more media attention etc. We need to return to using our brains and actually engage with different points of views without demonising those who hold to ones we don't agree with. Healthy debate is making two cases. Both voices are allowed to be heard. But that doesn't mean that the winning (louder) voice should be shoved down everyone's throat as the ultimate truth. :)

I'm conservative, I'm on the right and hsve been since I was quite young and I don't want to make lefties come over to my side. What I want is to have good lefties, intelligent lefties who believe in their cause because I know I'm going to be wrong but I won't know I'm wrong at the time so I need opposing thought that can overcome my thoughts when I'm wrong. And they need me. We need to be taught, to be shown where we need to go, so we need to raise good people, honest and decent people who care about their neighbors because their our neighbors mo matter who they are or what they think, just thwt they are our neighbors snd we need our neighbors to have a good life, we need to help them and. We need to care about them and to care for them . I was fortunate to grow up in a peaceful place in a peaceful family among peaceful neighbors being able to be wrong so often without suffering too harshly and being taught the lessons of where I was wrong and how to do it correctly by the peaceful people in my peaceful community without these neighbors having a need to show me anything but where I was wrong . Political views were never part of learning the correct way to do things so by tne time I was able to understand how I viewed the world it came with the knowledge that my neighbors who helped me grow didn't view the world the same way I did but it it didn't matter because I knew the person knew the person inside wax the same as me . There weren't sides of opposition, it was just us together. I was fortunate.

The extremes are two sides of the same coin. The key to a successful future is paradoxical unity.
@steve10
@steve10 2 ай бұрын
I remember the first time I heard that phrase , and when you understand it , it literally sums up everything wrong in the world. Eddie izzard summed it up , when he used to be funny , it's a bit like fashion , some people wear some wacky clothes but are seen as trendy by the elite in the fashion industry , but wear the wrong hat with those same clothes and suddenly you are put into the looking like a d**head section. So the really trendy are bordering with those who look like a di**head , its essentially two sides of the same coin, and they are just as stupid looking as each other. You take the far right and they are so invested that they only read about one side, their own , so they only get agreement from people who think the same ,,so they get themselves angry, same as the activism of far left , they only hang around on marches hearing the same nonsense fed to them that they get themselves angry. So both sides are out there being extreme, while the rest of us look on thinking, when is this nonsense going to end, the sad thing is its that coin with the two extreme groups on different sides that makes the loudest noise and gain the most attention, when in reality the silent majority should be shutting them up and shutting them down , because no matter what view point you might agree with , in the grand scheme of things the extreme people are just the same angry troublemakers that have no intention of listening to reason that neither are worth bothering to listen to. We seem to be in a vortex of huge extremes and it's just ruining the country , the loudest people are making the least amount of sense and its gettng like groundhog day , to the point the world is just so tiring imo.😮

"Ideology is a very bad thing always." Love that. I have views currently considered, left, right and far right depending on the issue. Tribalism is not helpful in solving problems. Critical thinking, flexibility, genuinely listening to other points of view with respect and consideration and genuine care for the wellbeing of all beings and all things, including future generations and the ecosystem we depend on would be more useful. We are one humanity depending on each other and on our planet to survive and hopefully to thrive. Love is ultimately the answer, not war.

Very interesting…. Thought in the political arena I would consider Trump as the better candidate… but I don’t entirely agree with the republican ideology… nor the socialist ideology: But then as I am observing the hate and bigotry of one side more than the other (democrats): I am also concerned regarding how each side will respond afterwards? Because we are looking at a severely divided country of two extremes… but the what could be done to create a more unified balance?

I could listen to Konstantin all day tbh , he has a really good way of explaining complex issues but in a way that is easy to take in and think about. Jordan Peterson often has interesting points ,, but he uses several long words and intellectual phrases that even though I know what he is saying ,,ive lost interest , its not that I don't comprehend what Petetson is saying , it's that I get what he is saying but I wish he would just use less words as its quicker 😂 I know he does his podcast with Francis , but I'm really only watching to hear Konstantin.. What I like as well is I often see people confront "woke" people about the nonsense they say, but then they get drawn in to the personal argument and lose that perfect moment to show that their thinking is not reality , whereas Konstantin gets to the point of things , and he checks what he is saying and doesn't get himself mixed up. So someone will purposely misquote him to try and get ahead in the debate, Konstantin knows exactly what was said and therefore will always come out as the person with more credit.. Very interesting guy

Sounds like Wokeism is anti-evolutionary. Yet Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor, et al." Maybe the answer is some sort of evolutionary creation in which enterprise is encouraged (see Jesus's Parable of the Talents), yet we must "remember the poor."
