Marvel Dice Throne Characters: Ranked!

SUCH a fun video, Zee! I absolutely LOVE every single Dice Throne character -- I just really love playing Dice Throne regardless of the characters in play. But, it was really fun to hear about what you like in a hero, and I thought your order was great. As I said, I enjoy all of the Marvel heroes, and think they're some of the best in the whole game, but I want to put my order here as well: 8. Captain America -- She's great.. but just ended up here because I like the other heroes more. 7. Dr. Strange -- I love the spells, and the "spellbook" where they sit after you prepare them is fun. I love that they have an ability for preparing them AND for casting them. 6. Scarlet Witch -- Fun to mess with the dice, and I like the crackle effect that makes you consider WHEN to spend your status effects for max damage. 5. Spiderman -- combo rocks. Plus 2 defenses. I like that invisibility is multipurpose against heroes that do or don't do undefendable damage. 4. Black Widow -- Top 4 heroes are all almost tied for first. Zee nails everything that is great about her. Lots of planning, and lots of payoff when you get those upgrades out. 3. Thor -- I LOVE chucking the hammer.. and I love that it's instantaneous damage, so you can often kill your opponent in the end by just discarding all your cards. 2. Black Panther -- Zee also nails why he is so fun -- the charge up from taking damage. Timing WHEN you blow to maximize your damage output is also fun to try to plan. 1. Loki -- I love bag of tricks... it CAN help your opponent sometimes. Too funny when that happens. Plus, Illusion is my favourite status effect in the game (narrowly beating out the Cursed Pirate's "hot-potato" Powder Kegs). Illusion is amazing because you don't JUST shuffle the cards and lay them down. You look at them. You choose to lay them down in a certain order, and then you tell your opponent which card to pick. That takes it from a random choice into this hilarious bluffing game. It's not just a bad roll, when you pick wrong.. you say "I CAN'T believe I trusted you. I CAN'T believe you outwitted me!" And that just makes it hilarious when it happens again a few minutes later. I've had a lot of fun with Loki because of that.

Nice ranking. I don’t know if Marvel characters are in the line up down the road, but I think a superbly thematic duo would be the classic struggle between Wolverine and The Hulk.

Interesting ranking! Scarlet Witch and Loki are my 2 favourites. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked Black Widow and dissapointed in how boring I found Spider-Man's kit

Outside of primarily being 1v1 games, there's not much they have in common. Unmatched is hand management skirmish game. Dice Throne is a battle-Yahtzee with a pinch of Magic: The Gathering.

Love the list. Just started watching tournaments and apparently Thor is busted. Of the 26 characters Thor is the only permanent banned. I'm not sure why.

Do you prefer the Marvel theme and gameplay over Dice Throne season 1 and 2?

@@kumanight Just feel like theres so much Marvel themed these days that generic might actually be a nice change of pace. (This is coming from someone that absolutely adores Marvel, I have all of the Marvel Champions lcg, for example. I just cannot decide which version of Dice Throne I'd enjoy more cause I'm a little worried about having TOO much Marvel!)

Generic theme of S1 and S2 makes them ageless, Marvel DT feels very MCU phase 4 and phase 4 only, in 5-6 years, people will be less thrilled by those characters when they won't be in the movies.

In the group review for Marvel Dice Throne on the Dice Tower channel. Zee was the only one of the group that hadn’t played any version of Dice Throne before the Marvel one. So he still might not have played them. He did mention that the Marvel theme enticed him more than generic characters, so he might not be interested in the season 1 and 2 Dice Throne.

I have only played one game of non-Marvel Dice Throne (Gunslinger vs. Flamethrower or something similar), and I vastly preferred the Marvel characters. They did a great job of matching the abilities to their characters, and each character feels unique. My favorite is Dr. Strange, but I also love playing Loki, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel. Miles Morales Spider Man, Thor, and Black Panther aren’t very exciting to me, but I liked them better than the characters I mentioned earlier. I also enjoy the unique artwork for these characters. It feels very fresh.

That would be extremely OP. I know from experience because my friend incorrectly played Miles that way (he glossed over the max of 1 per turn) and crushed me.
