“If the components were dull, then I probably wouldn’t keep it.” Sounds like Jamaica for me. I like it as a race game and I like the theme of pirate images, but the art, the components and the table presence (and the in box storage) makes it a definite forever keeper. Our FLGS has Relic Runners on their 50% off table so I looks like I’m going to go lighten their table and give it a home on my shelf beside Jamaica and Dark Ages of Camelot. ❤

I bought this based on this recommendation. The pieces are stunning. Our family just didn't think it was very fun. We wanted to love it because of the great Indiana Jones-y theme, but it didn't grab us. Played about 3x and has been on our shelf for over a year. (As reference, we love Ticket to Ride and really like Small World.)

I'd be happy to give this a try, but looking at the rules overview, it doesn't appear as something I would jump at going "yeah, this is an awesome game". Saying that I own Small World and that's one of those games you have to play to find out how good it is. It's going to be on my "test" list if someone brings it to the table, assuming I don't first!

I'm actually pretty excited about this one! Time for a trip to my FLGS! (Although, I have already noted that Zee and I seem to share a taste in games.) Incidentally, is Zee ever going to do a Top 100?

After thinking a bit about Ticket to Ride, at first you think the theme is there (connecting cities and earning money/points). But in reality, there is nothing backing that theme in the game. It is very dry and probably only the components are holding it together. If that would be with some space theme, maybe it wouldn't be such a hit. Many people like trains :)

I personally rank those as medium-heavy near Small World. IMO Relic Runners is probably as medium as medium gets.

Tom has said that Tom and Zee each doing a Top 100 will included as stretch goals in the next kickstarter. They will be critiquing Tom's Top 100 this year though.

This must be one of those games that you have to try in order to appreciate it. The game, from my first impression, looks a little more "doo-doo" compared to other Days of Wonder games. It looks good, not great.
