I love it. Some folks cringe at the component drop Tom always does. So what does he do? He takes it up a notch and now he's just smashing the components with a hammer. Love this channel.

10 years... wow. I still have this game in my 50.

One of those peppers was really launched by the gavel. There's a pretty decent delay from gavel impact to hearing it hit the floor. This proves that the gavel is awesome!!

Boy-Howdey I'm convinced. Didnt think Anything of the first impression of this game. After watching it reviewed, I was smiling and thinking about how fun it could be. IMA GET IT!! Tom how do you do it. Thanks sir.

This review is great, almost as good as the game is! Kind of work you had mentioned that the chili names were Kickstarter backer suggestions. You probably were unaware, though, so not a big deal... Can you PLEASE have a bowl of pepper cereal on a future BGBfast?

I spur of the moment bought this one and I LOVE it!

I do like this game a lot, but I have to mention one criticism. Although the game can be played with up to six players, you WILL run out of peppers if you try to play it with more than three. Generally, this won't cause you problems when it comes to planting peppers, but you will need cubes or some other substitute pieces near the end of the game for keeping behind your screen.

We ran into this problem when playing with six people when we first played this game in our game group. Other than that the game was surprisingly fun to play.

Ditto on this! It's my ONLY complaint... Yer gonna need extra peppers... Hard to believe they didn't run into this problem in play testing.
@JayChampagne10 жыл бұрын
My thinking is that less experienced players tend to hoard peppers behind their screen more than they should, and that near the end of development the play-testers had all stopped doing that. That's the only way I can explain the pepper shortage. It'd be nice to be able to purchase additional peppers, but I think they only have enough now to replace ones broken in shipping. Between Chinese new year and dock worker labor issues on the west coast, I wouldn't expect to be able to get more peppers before the summer, at earliest.

I wrote TMG about this, just got a response... They have heard the cries of the people... They don't have any extra peppers, but they're looking for a solution. In the meantime, they sent me a PDF with pepper multipler graphics. These would have been a good addition to the game as pop out tokens. I might try finding some wood squares, and print these out as stickers.

I did not know Tom liked "Heat". I had him pegged as a Wonder bread, Velveeta lover. I was WRONG, sorry Tom.

I'll have to ask him about his favorite sauces in the next live Q&A. I'm also a fan of heat (and obviously, I've backed the game for the theme too)

The component design reminds me of Bohnanza: basic and dull. The cards for examples are too small. The gameplay could be fun but the rules looks slightly complicated. Overall this Eurogame game has an original theme but also has room for improvements.

yes4me I’ve heard some other discussion of this game before, and I have to agree: the game feels like they had this idea of planting peppers and walking about the field to harvest them, and they really loved this mechanic and put everything into it while other things sorta fell by the wayside a bit (I understand, I love it too, and can understand if they got caught up in the hype too), like the weird rules for shifting between morning and afternoon cards (I get it’s so that people don’t rush to the rarer peppers right away, but still, a bit too complicated) and the component quality. Still looks like a game I’d happily play, just needed a bit more time in the oven, and the developer taking a break to get out of that blind alley and sort out their priorities.

The only time I played it was with six players and it just took soooooooooo loooooooooooong. Completely turned me off from the game. I think if I went back and played with three i might like it, but still think it is very prone to AP.

I cringed when you smashed that gavel down on those poor poor wooden peppers.

Wanted to like it, but found it SUPER dull. Loads of AP and simple strategies. Sorry, but it's going to the eBay pile.

Don't play it with guys that suffers from AP. 4player game took us almost 2hours. And only 2 of us had AP. The crossbreeding matrix is horrible, you can't remember the weird combinations. And you hardly can distinguish the colors on the cards. One of my most horrible game experience. No one liked it at the table.
@valentinbenavente78964 жыл бұрын
Well, in my group of players there's no one that suffers from AP, so I cannot give an oppinion on that, but I must dissagree with you about the matrix: after three plays I did not need to look at it anymore as it's very easy to understand and the way peppers combine with each others is pretty logical. May not be at first glance, but after a couple of games you'll understand the chart perfectly.
