I played this today with some friends and it's exactly what you said. Once it clicks it makes sense and you know what to do. I enjoyed it and not only because I won :)

Thanks for this. I had seen people playing this at some meetups, and the box and card art got me interested. But as you say, the theme is pretty non-existent, which is a major drawback for me. I'd still like to try it, but it's a no-go as far as purchasing. Tom, have you ever played Lupin the 3rd or Nexus Ops? Dying to know what you think of those, hard to find reliable reviews...

I love Neuroshima Hex, but as a mobile app single-player game. I would like a version where players were able to design all the tiles in their army deck, paying 'points' for the various abilities on each tile.

@@yishnir what do you think of Neuroshima Hex?
@yishnir Жыл бұрын
@gaebril131 Hmm. You made me realize that I transposed the name 'Nexus Ops', mentally, for 'Neuroshima Hex'. My above comment was meant to be about 'Neuroshima Hex'... which would make it a non sequitur, since the comment I was replying to was about a different game entirely... Anyway, I love Neuroshima Hex as a mobile game. Because it's a head-to-head competitive game, I can seldom find anyone in my immediate circle who wants to play... but I'm happy to play single-player vs 3 computer opponents. I 'would' love it if players could customize their own decks, or armies, by allocating abilities to different units, much like Warhammer armies are customized.

One thing that bears mentioning is just how mean the game can be lol. Highly confrontational. Its basically “I drink your milkshake” the game.

I don't like it much. Too much is based on luck.

I can’t play games that look like this. I just can’t. The color palette of all these mechanic-heavy Euro games is exceedingly dull, seemingly designed to disengage the players from fun at every turn. The monochromatic wooden polygons (again in drab, uninspiring colors) saps any kind of immersive potential right out of the room. I’ve played so many of these games by now, and the problem is always the same: I feel like I’m playing with tiddly winks and jacks- boring toys that no one wants to play with anymore.

Cool tirade. Leave the good games for the big boys.

@@NerdXCrewWillWill do. I can't play with big boys either. Too obese. Especially big nerd boys. No room at the table, and too much of a cheese smell.

@Chris You're a good sport. I feel bad for teasing now. Honestly, I apologize! Happy gaming, dude!
