So my advice is to work in the private sector jobs and don't trust the government jobs that don't pay for social security retirement benefits 😢

Also, if you cancel an appointment for any reason, reschedule it as soon as possible. I would think missing an appointment or treatment would go against you.

Absolutely! Missing appointments can be detrimental to your case, so rescheduling is vital.

I’m curious about timelines… My dad was diagnosed with early Onset Alzheimer’s last year, and was forced to retire early by his employer, stating he was now a liability. I’ve been trying to help him financially as much as possible, but had to apply for disability benefits for him. The last status update stated “ We have processed 5 of 5 steps of your application. We made a decision to approve your application on November 27, 2024.” But as of today haven’t received any further information. Everyone says the process takes forever- I’m just wondering if it’s normal for status to be updated online but not get anything in mail?

First, thank you for advocating for your dad-it’s not easy, but you’re doing an incredible job. 💙 It’s normal for Social Security updates to appear online before you receive mail confirmation. Timelines vary, but staying informed is key. Subscribe to our channel for expert updates and support! 📬

So if you’re on disability, is there an issue working part time for 1,000 dollars a month?… How does this work?

Thank you. My disability revolves around a torn bicep tendon, which sucks. Also mental health related but mainly torn bicep tendon. In theory, if I work very few hours washing dishes somewhere? Would that be an issue if my income gross is 1,000 / month? I’ll look at more of your videos… Thank you

My last job was with the city of Atlanta Georgia government and social security reduced my social security benefits because I worked for the city of Atlanta Georgia government which doesn't pay for social security benefits 😢

That’s a tough situation. The Windfall Elimination Provision can reduce benefits if you worked for a government job that didn’t pay into Social Security. I hope you're able to find some support during this time.

@TheDisabilityDigest saint captain America social security benefits, social security office used the windfall against me because I became disabled on a government job and social security office dismissed my work history working in the private sector jobs paying into social security benefits, that is what social security office did to me, 😭

It is better if you work for private sector jobs that pay taxes for the federal government program social security, the the state government doesn't pay taxes for social security benefits 😢

Saint Captain America social security benefits, social security windfall is used to reduce your social security benefits retirement benefits if your last job was with the government 😢
@TheDisabilityDigestКүн бұрын
You're right-Social Security's Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) can reduce benefits if your last job was with the government and didn’t pay into Social Security. It’s frustrating, but there are exceptions based on your work history. Checking SSA.gov or consulting a benefits advisor can help clarify your situation.
