I saw this in my FLGS yesterday and was wondering about it. I was glad to see you had reviewed it, and I enjoyed the review, not least the particularly painful Dad-jokes that bookended it -- I'll be stealing those. Plus your friend's line in the epilogue, "You have the freedom to choose, but you don't have the freedom to choose your consequences," will also be stolen. I am glad to see that more and more publishers are realizing that there is a market, likely a substantial one, for good two-player games (GMT in fact seems to be going all in on solo modes). Cthulhu Wars was always tempting, but for that price point when I almost always can only play with two players, no way. This looks like it will be a welcome addition to the collection.

If you're looking for a two player experience. Otherwise, you're probably fine with the original.
