Nerds Unite! Not EVERY late 90s/early Aughts indie band had to be a nihilistic, sad and depressing Syd and Nancy/ Kurt and Courtney tragedy type of situation. Although those kinda bands were also valid and just as popular. I was lucky enough to open for The Dismemberment Plan AND this little Florida band called Discount way over here in our little neck of the woods called West Texas. Soon after The Plan would put out just one more album after Emergency & I and the lead singer of Discount moved to the U.K. and started The Kills. It warms my crusty jaded post-punk heart knowing that both bands are alive and well on platforms like KZbin. Thanks for listening.

On every single live version of this song the synth is down way too low. It has to be deliberate to be over all these differents shows. I just dont get it. The synth is the main melody. Great song regardless.

Yeah, I really can't tell if it's just that it's flat or it's too muffled, but it's certainly noticeable. Almost sounds like it's out of breath for a lot of the song.
