Im glad you brought up Karone, honestly her character arc benefitted greatly from the fact she wasn't the clear cookie cutter villian that is to be expected from the franchise. This is also something that made Lost Galaxy great as well. That added layer of character and the plot point of her and Andros being brother and sister was an awesome thing to see play out.

This season was my childhood ending, I started middle school and other teen interests started to come into my life so I could feel myself being too old for it but its nice to look back. Now that you and other people review these episodes through a more adult tone I'm glad this is where it ended for me.

This was a great part two. I love when villains can have a shade of gray. Not all the time as sometimes the mystery makes them more fearful or scary. Karone/Astronima is a great tragedy, raised by people she considered family and dedicated herself to, only to realize she was in the wrong, but then have that realization ripped from her. It reminded me of a Stephen King story where a mentally slow guy helped kidnap a baby on orders from his boss and he slowly realizes the mistake he made. He wanted to obey his boss but also grew attached to the baby and wanted to return him. Sadly, it got the Of Mice and Men treatment but I liked that nuance. I get the Rangers not wanting to trust her, like putting a wolf in a sheep pen but I get Andross' reasoning too.

If there’s one missed opportunity of this season, I wish we would have gotten more of the old villains since they were clearly available, and it makes sense Dark Spectre would use other agents every once and a while. Also the parallels with Astronema could have been furthered, beyond just “the female villains don’t like each other”

Jessica Beast Morphers is going back to Story over flashy effects. Hiam Saban has stated this in numerous interviews after the reveal. That was one reason he was going back to Go-Busters in the first place. It could provide a good story to the mythos as to how the Morphing Grid could work to power other areas of a city when the energy gets to be too much within the grid

3:39 Jonny Yong Bosch said on FaceBook and in an interview that in the Turbo Movie (it's Canon btw), in a lost deleted scene, both Tanya and Adam were sent to investigate where Divatox had landed and there was a power overload similar to the one shown in Ninja Quest Pt 1 but they were able to preserve enough of the Zeo Powers to be transferred into the Turbo Powers

MrSonicHedgehog Speaking of how the Turbo Powers were made, David Yost wasn't supposed to leave until Passing the Torch Parts 1 and 2 aired. David Yost stated that he was supposed to stay for Season 5, he would do the Turbo movie and 6 more months of the show and then leave when Passing the Torch Part 2 aired, but with his abrupt departure they had to revise the story, not to mention what he was working on during Zeo was never revealed, he stated that he was working on something in his spare time and would reveal it when the time was right, but it never happened. As it was shown, he kept disappearing during the season in order to aid the speculation that he was the Gold Ranger when actually he was creating the Turbo Powers, that's my theory and that's what I stick to otherwise none of it makes any logical sense. The original concept was that he was supposed to utilize the 5 Zeo Crystals to create the Turbo Powers.

Dennis Taylor I think that does falls in line with what I said though. Maybe there was excess energy being poured into a subgenerator in the Power Chamber for later use since by the time they got the Super Zeo Crystal from Trey, there was more than enough energy to make the Turbo Powers so Zordon already had contingencies in place in case something happen like with the ThunderZords, which in that lost scene did happen. The overload and thus the creation of the Turbo Powers happened. How else do you explain how they got to Divatox so easily? It means that the scouting mission was a success despite the Zeo Powers being lost. I think around the time Divatox had kidnapped Jason and Kim, Zordon picked up on this. Tanya and Adam morphed and were overwhelmed by Pharanatrons. At the same moment the Zeo Overload was happening, that's when Kat tried to morph but subsequently failed due to the other reserve energy not used for the Turbo Powers running out. Again, basing this on how Jonny Yong Bosch has reported this lost scene. 1:20 Poor Justin. His one term as a Power Ranger ended in disaster. All zords destroyed, power chamber blown up, living super cars captured, Blue Centurion (spelling?) gone, and after nearly dying, he had to watch his friends leave Earth. I never liked Justin when I watched the show as a kid, but I felt so sorry for him. That one team-up episode with him and the other rangers was perfect. It finally gave him a happier ending, the super cars were saved, he learned that his friends survived, he gets his blue Turbo powers back (from one of the super cars), and since we see the Blue Centurion lived at the end of In Space, I can only imagine he went back to Earth to let Justin know he was okay. One thing I will say about Power Rangers and Super Sentai is that it has amazing staying power. The MCU is basically rudderless after Endgame, and while the amount of content has increased thanks to the short TV/Disney+ series made since then, most of that content is mediocre and bland or terrible and woke, with a handful of exceptions (WandaVision, the Spider-Man movies, etc). They're basically throwing everything to the wall and seeing what sticks, and not much is sticking. Wokeness is a powerful solvent.

Karone has the distinct honor of being the first seventh Ranger and the first Purple Ranger (even though she doesn't morph until she becomes the Lost Galaxy Pink Ranger due to a lack of a Purple Ranger in the Sentai footage). Although the circumstances for her becoming the Pink Galaxy Ranger were horrible, it was a great way to finish her character's redemption arc - from the Princess of Evil to Karone to finally becoming a full-fledged Power Ranger.

Everyone loves Jason or Tommy as their ideal Red Ranger, but for me Andros was my favorite Red Ranger. Wes from Time Force was a close second. I stopped after Time Force, I was just getting older haha.

Thank you so much for making these videos, man. I've been waiting for someone out there (or even myself) to show others about all the nuances of this season, particularly the dynamics with the villains, which I'd say are the best the franchise has to offer. I love it whenever Power Rangers goes above and beyond with its storytelling (like in this, RPM, and others) and hoping we can at least get something on that caliber for Beast Morphers.

I loved how in Space had such a developed villian. It makes the show much more worth watching. Kamen Rider W also had villians that were well developed. One of the main baddies did what he did for the same reasons the main detective hero fought: to make the city a better place. When they found out one anothers dreams and ideals they gained a deep respect for one another and in the end the villian realized his way was wrong and tried to do the right thing. Unfortunately he was betrayed by his lover and killed. It made the scene so heartbreaking, he had decided to turn his back on evil and if im remembering the scene right he was trying to get his girlfriend (or fiance cant remember) to come with him but she was completely evil and killed him so she could be with the new villian introduced.

Since you mentioned the zeo powers, I wasn't sure if you knew but apparently they shot a scene for the turbo movie where the powers get destroyed, which is why they get the turbo powers. For some unknown reason, they cut it from the final edit. So, I guess that makes it non-canon but it explains the lack of zeo powers.

In all honesty, especially as an Adult. Lightspeed Resuce was & is heads and tails above “In Space”. Lightspeed Rescues theme & tone are way more darker or “aged up” so to speak. Idk it just makes more sense to me. The Aqua Base was magnificent. Being helped by the Government of Earth, not hiding their Identities, everyone basically knows who the Rangers are. Them being more grown up with actual Jobs & Careers and not younger kids. Even the animations of certain things just looked better, felt better, and just seemed more realistic. Their Zords were better, Just more grounded in reality which is a plus for me. I guess it’s kinda hard to explain. But if you have seen Lightspeed Rescue then I assume you know what I’m talking about..

@disney brain my friend has asked me to remember but i can't so maybe you or another can ok??assuming you've seen the trailer for this Saturday and Tuesday after that then you know they are facing uh well clones I think but probably be named something else maybe repilicants??nah to sophisticated for a "children's" show but whatever my friend says we've seen this plot before in another generation about rangers fighting clones of themselves in numbers but maybe not this massive. could you help me and point me at the very least to the generation so i can search the episodes???
