You make this look easy. I tiled my kitchen floor without the levelling system, I didn't do a bad job but there are definitely high and low spots so if I dare do it again I would definitely invest in that. Watching this full series as generally interested, your videos are from a UK perspective and there's no bullshit or time wasting in them.

Yeh just don't buy the one I bought from B&Q absolute waste of money the part that goes under the tile has a curve so it likes to push the tile up and off the bed, a mind boggling design, it was the vitrex branded one.

You make that look so easy. As someone who needs their bathroom floor tiling after I had to lift them due to a leak, I’m hoping to be able to do the job myself, to save money but also very conscious of messing it up and making it more expensive by having to get an expert in to fix my attempt. Feel like after watching this I “could” give it a go myself as your video is a very clear and easy to follow method. First video of yours I’ve ever seen, won’t be the last. Keep up the great work

This is exactly the right way to apply tile adhesive, in one and the same direction - so you don't get a hollow sound or air under your tiles either. Too many YTs just throw it on the floor and smooth it out in all directions, they might find out in the long run that it can cause problems! Love your videoes by the way.

Good demo. You can clean your paddle mixer right after you finish mixing the mud/adhesive. You just need another bucket of water and place the mixer in it and run it for a minute and you get a clean mixer for the next batch of mud/adhesive or grout. Just be careful where you dumb your wash water or let it decant and pour the water off later.

good job. there is special tool Grout rake tool , which is to clean the space between the tiles. It is like a knife but the sides do the job. I tiled my bath floor on the OSB boards and the grout cracked. I removed everything , put cement boards and tiled on top and now is fine. It it hard to tile on wood sometimes.

@@TheDIYGuy1 No problem, you deserve it. 100% and. I subscribed which I rarely do. And btw, and this is not criticism. Myself being Canadian, we do use the metric system (mm, decametres, kilometres etc) when discussing work like this, we all use the imperial system, inches etc as does the entire USA.. So to help broaden your audience and subscribers, it may help to use both metrics if you’re comfortable with that. Again, not an insult or issue, just a suggestion as you’re videos are so good, it takes on worldwide appeal. Take care, Chris.

Excellent video, better than most pro vids I've watched. If I may add a few points? - Measure the water:grout ratio (or stick to the manufacturer's guidelines) that you used in case you need to add / replace any in future, then it will be a colour match and not look slightly different to the original. - Don't use shiny glossy floor tiles in a bathroom, as they're lethal when wet. - When wiping the grout, keep at 45 degrees to the grout line where possible, then you won't wipe any out of the joint.

Great video. Makes a lot of sense. I wanted to ask advice...We have tiles on our bathroom floor which have been laid on hardie board like your example here. They were fine for years but we suspect water has gotten into the substrate below the hardie backerboard (via the hinge where our shower screen is where the seal isn't great) as in the last year we have had grout and tiles cracking. Despite our best efforts to remedy it, it seems to have created a domino effect. Do you think we would need to remove tiles/hardie backer and original substrate (most likely chipboard) to fix the issue? I didn't know if it was possible to completely redo a bathroom floor without redoing the whole thing! Also, why do you not lay hardie backer board completely under a bath? Ours is like yours here where it only partially goes under and I thought that was a mistake on the original installation by the previous property owners? Would really appreciate your advice on this. Thanks

If it's big enough to put a tile in it must be quite a gap... You could use some tanking tape along the join (underneath the tile), flexible waterproof adhesive and grout for the tile and then run a good sealant on top of the tile where the floor meets the wall to finish (I'd use dow785 sanitary sealant - it's great stuff). Others might have better ideas mind.
