Some tribe symbols on the door flaps would be cool added feature.
@theDMsCraft9 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that too but I left them off so they could be generic. I am doing an orc banner vid and decided that I would have the symbol on the camp banner instead.

Have you considered placing a tea light inside the tent for night glowing camp...just an idea.
@theDMsCraft9 жыл бұрын
Fun idea!
@Sang19579 жыл бұрын
Hey Scotty! I watched this after seeing the banner vids and something that could be added to "Da Boss's" tent could be a banner pole coming from the center of the tent with the tribes banner on it or the door flap could be painted like a banner...
@theDMsCraft9 жыл бұрын
Sure could, I just wanted my tents to be generic.

Great job. Love to see a part three. Decorate with orc trophies (armor etc), orc shields and furs etc. Maybe personal touches like this orc likes red.

Great work, thank you! I'm going to attempt this but try to 'cut' an opening from the top and door that will allow miniatures to be inside...possibly even make it into 2 or 3 rooms inside. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm sure you've been asked this in the past, but I was curious if you ever use a spray sealant on your tabletop pieces. I mean above and beyond character figures that is. I find it's invaluable in keeping the corners of the buildings, tents,etc looking good even after years of play; plus gloss vs matte makes for some interesting looks (wet, dry, etc) I was just curious, as I don't think I've heard you mention it as a step. Cheers.
@theDMsCraft9 жыл бұрын
I almost never do. I really don't have a problem with wear and if I did I would just dab a bit of paint on the problem. Much less expensive than sealing everything you make. If you have watched my other vids you will see I do use gloss sealers for effect.

If you did a solid base a bit larger then the tent cut your carboard into a span that goes side to side fully then cut put the bottom pieces of cardboard and really stiffen it up using the white glue method I think you could do it quite easily.
@calamariaxo9 жыл бұрын
Those ended up looking reaaaally good. Paper towels and white glue. You sir are a magician! Certainly joining this patreon thing. You deserve some money for all the enjoyment you've brought me :)

I could see leaving the door partway open painting the inside cardboard flat black to give it that spooky whats going to come out look or even a real dim light to add depth. If you used the glue gun could make animal hide shapes and make a tent for a less evolved race such as a troll. Or a little rabbit and coyote racoon tent for nasty little goblins on the march. Your videos always get me very inspired thanks Scotty.

The tent looks awesome! Your playing table and the dark red background of your table at the end of the video make the presentation more professional. A light source behind the camera can avoid shadows as unfortunately seen. Try to keep that in mind for further vids. ;) Scotty, that tent looks great, but isn't 2.5D. You forgot to build an inside view. ;)

Hey Scotty not sure if you accept requests but I was curious if you had any crafting tips for props and miniatures for Call of Cthulhu tabletop, which I've recently gotten into. I'm in the process of crafting an actual Necronomicon prop but have only gotten to inking in about 12 pages without illustrations. Any advice for making it stand out or other tips that would be handy for other prop builds?

You can also use different colored paint to color images on the pages but use very wet paint so the color looks faded.

theDMsCraft I'll give it a shot since the only tea I have around the house is the expensive not in bag kind lol
