Can confirm the speed of character creation - I ran a game for complete beginners to rpgs last Saturday, 2 people had characters in under 20 mins.

This video series is a real gold. I've read the rules several times but this still makes it much more clear and interesting! I wasn't really "getting" the paths until now - and now they _all_ look extremely interesting. So thank you! If i may have one question tho - I feel like the Necromancer part is not very detailed in the book and you also kinda skip over it in this vid. Could you please comment on how is it supposed to work? The necromancer is able to raise undead, but how does that work mechanically? What are the rolls? Are there limits on quantity or something else? Can the undead then fight for the mancer? Can the player make a huge super zombie dragon or something? :) You know, this kind of "mechanical" stuff. Thanks and good luck with followup work, I can't wait for more of this goodness!

You mention one-shot convention play at the end of this video where a a player generates a fully fleshed out character. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on character progression in a campaign setting. Would characters in a DMScotty campaign start out fully "inclinated?" Or would they start as weaker characters with fewer inclinations and strikes and then gain inclinations etc as the campaign progresses?

Nope start like every other character. In my games things happen that can give player growth thru story and sometimes minor player advancement if it makes sense in the story. A very easy way to do character advancement is give more hero dice to start each session. That is a HUGE benefit.

Love the fast character creation that is platunum the magic system hell yes love I've done something similar in my d&d game but was always looking for a game that just did so thank you for that. What I love about what I've seen so far is I don't see the need to hack this and that's great but I can if I want it looks very table friendly. also, I was wondering if a pc does not have armour do they just use a miraculous save or none just curious?

No armor save if they somehow lose their armor but each character has armor to start.

the only point i would like clarification on is the difference between sweeping/swift attack and magic spells effecting multiple targets. Im pretty sure on sweeping/swift attack you roll for each target with the full dice pool resolving crits individually where as spells take one roll for all targets??? and also on sweeping/swift attack you can use karma and hero dice where as spells you can only use hero dice. am i right?

For Seer I let the player borrow my Oracles of Eight and roll on those tables for doing fortunes (3 rolls per spell)

Normally No, they must be in a friendly settlement but I could see ruling in favor of the botanicalist.

Necro: "you can raise mindless undead to serve you..." How does summoning work? Do I use a corpse and raise on of the undead monsters in the book like an animated skeleton or a (bone) golem or...? Do these servants have the same stats/abilities like the classic monsters would have? How many can I control?

@@theDMsCraft So that leaves with me one Skeleton, Zombie or Weirdling. As a RR the resistance to cast a spell (typo in the rulebook on page 14 "Resistance to a cast spell" btw) should go up the better the undead like you said in the Magick and Miracles video regarding the golem.

@@Morvagor82 It can be a judgment call. I would allow a Necro to raise up to 6 at once as that is the maximum target #. The resistance roll would just be 6D6 and then anchor the spell.
