First heard about this from Boy George, weirdly enough, and it's been my favourite breakfast ever since. Rather than sweeten, I take some berries out the freezer to add in the morning. Love a bit of yogurt in the overnight mix too.

I use organic coconut flakes to sweeten my porridge and also like to add cinnamon. Thanks for a great recipe!

I love your channel! I'm studying nutrition and it's so refreshing to se a doctor who believes in food for health :) What is your opinion on buying ground flax and having it go rancid more quickly than whole? I buy whole and mill it as I need it, but just was curious about your thoughts on that or how you store it to stop it from going rancid :)

I’ve been having this sort of breakfast for some time now and love it. I saw that you suggest cacao because of its health benefits. I have been loath to try cacao as I get the most awful three day migraines from anything with cocoa solids in, so I daren’t try it. Is there anything else you can suggest to fill the same role in this dish? Thanks!

Can we use greek yogurt along with milk to prepare overnight oats?

Love this! It's your flavonol porridge from the book with chia seeds. Always good to hear about alternative ingredients and toppings etc. (I don't think I can be bothered with bee pollen tho 😆). I always have this for breakfast on days I'm going to the gym after work. I feel like this and a healthy lunch gives me enough energy for the workout. Thanks for making the time to share this before you had to go to work! Keeping it real 😀

i just recently learned that most of us think the problem with dairy is a lactose intolerance when it may in fact be casein in the A1 protein of the mutated dairy cows that carry both A1 and A2 protein. There's a company in New Zealand selling milk only from "A2 dairy cows". Have you heard of it? It's worth looking into.
@knoxscoop4 жыл бұрын
goats milk, if you can find it, is lactose free. It's very high fat but extra nutritious. The dried/canned milk is vile so buy fresh.

The whole seed flax is better for us, but you grind it the use immediately. Like wheat that has been ground then sits in a bag for a year. It loses some of its nutrition. Get the seed and grind it then use it...

The Doctor's Kitchen thanks for the reply. I think if you mix in lots of ground flax, maybe a little cacao or almond butter? Great work though. Look forward to your next post
@lorrie28785 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't you grind your flax fresh? Because of the fat they get rancid (which you can smell) and lose nutrients quickly, as I understand it.
