As soon as Megan heard about Miles, she jumped in her car and drove down to the small, rural California town where he lived. It didn’t take long to find him, but catching him was a different story. His life has changed so much since that day!

We had a Great Pyrenees, lived on a farm, and he became every farms dog. Would walk miles from farm to farm, everyone gave him food and shelter and when he wanted to move to the next farm he did. I have 2, I call it a walk-about. Mine do it once a week, gone all day. My little farm has an unfenced creek out back. They get out somehow from a 2 acre homestead fence. Bessie recently didn't come home for 3 days, showed up with a broken hip and I had to put her down. I'm an old man and still cried for over a hour. Spike, her partner, doesn't go very often anymore and I now have 4 month old Brutus. I put fencing on ground under gates. They are wonderful farm guard dogs, don't even hurt the 2 feral cats that rat the place. But woe be the coyotes and feral dogs that try to get the farm animals. Stay safe, stay prepped. GOD BLESS GOD SPEED GOD WINS.

It’s true everything is staged on KZbin these days. However regardless if this is staged or not, the reality is that type of dog breed is almost always patient and easy going with humans regardless of the event. So I’m saying this could be real, also he’s seen their faces multiple times and knows they aren’t out to hurt him. My wife and I had a stray Pyrenees for many years. Wonderful, gentle dog. Didn't have a mean bone in her body. We kept her to guard some sheep. She couldn't care less about sheep, but was very protective of the pasture, and we never lost any sheep under her protection. She also liked to roam, and it took a lot of training for her to learn to stay home. She was also an escape artist, and could climb over a 5 foot gate to get in the chicken yard... which she could not escape from. Finally she settled down, and we could leave her outside the fence perimeter. Every morning and evening she would stroll around the property perimeter to make sure all was in order. She stayed outside in all kinds of weather, and stood her duty. She was also great with kids, and they would ride her around like a pony. She died in the kennel on an especially stormy night. I found her on the floor in the morning, and it looked like she was sleeping. I buried her in a shady spot where she used to lounge on hot days. She was the best...

@@sylverpc Well...since Lucy died , my wife has also died from ALS.... a terrible disease. But before she acquired ALs, and was still relatively healthy, we acquired an Anatolian Shepherd dog as a replacement for Lucy. He is great too, gentle, but rather aloof. He recognizes anything strange, and assesses the danger. He will run off from delivery trucks, but otherwise ignores people. He is almost as big as my pony,,,, about the size of a yearling deer. He lives outside year around, but will come up on the porch to eat during inclement weather. He weighs about 125 pounds. I took him to the vet once, and he bit through his tie down on the way, jumped in my lap, and I had to fight him off while driving down the road. Wish I had a video. In respect to your comment... Beautiful dog in body and spirit. I found this when reading about the Great Pyrenees that attacked 11 coyotes to protect sheep. These dogs look so gentle but are fierce fighters, which makes it more amazing that he didn't bite anyone. THANK YOU for rescuing Miles. He reminds me of my rescue cream Golden Retriever... she didn't wag her tail for three days after I got her, but after 2.5 years is fine with me, but still a bit skittish when meeting new people.

I have had probably 15 dogs (I am 62 now) but I think he still makes me feel the most loved by any of them and they were all great dogs (except 1, to much abuse in past, you couldnt turn your back on him). all but 4 of my dogs were street rescues or strays and the other 4 were given to me by friends who could no longer keep them....Thanks so much for bringing me back to one of the happiest times of my life and reliving memories of one of my bestest friends including the human type I have ever had. As the owner of a male and female Great Pyrenees (6 years and 4 years respectively), I can tell you they are a complete handful and can be extremely stubborn when they're young. If you don't live on a farm, or are able to provide ample stimulation(walks, play, work), they become a destructive force of nature. That said, once they hit about 3 years of age, they become the sweetest and gentle beings anyone could ask for.

Do I have to remind you that that dog was able to walk fine just a few seconds ago. A dog, in the streets for a year, was able to walk fine just a few second ago. So Miles is a great Pyrenees. I had a Pyrenees just like him . I named him Big Boy & he was a big boy too . They are the most precious dogs I have ever known . I live on the family ranch with 600 acers & cows & horses & he loved them so much & is totally protective of them . I lost him to old age September 22 2020 . But I got a little girl Pyrenees about 2 2/2 years before I lost him & he had time to teach her things . Lord only knows how much I miss that Big Boy baby . Thanks for catching Miles & helping him .

@@JarellLavender89 That argument would've worked if we were trying to domesticate WILD animals which had a perfectly fine habitat to live in. That dog wasn't wild, it was clearly a stray dog which wasn't born stray and it was living in a habitat which isn't suited for wild dogs. You can talk about him maybe enjoying his freedom all you want, but looking at him it's quite clear he's a domesticated dog who's used to live with humans in a home.

Pyrenees are huggers, one of the few dogs that are. They don't jump up and try and lick you, they stand up on their hind legs and sniff your breath and if they're cuddly, they'll lay their head on your shoulder. Stretched out like that they can stick their nose in the face of a 6ft tall person, so if the person is only 5 and a half feet tall, they'll look you right in the eye. The whole time though, they will be very calm and mild mannered about it. It's just how they say hi to new people.

Absolutely true. My brother brought a puppy home one night that was abandoned behind the dumpster at his job. I took one look at its paws and told him this is gonna be a monster of a dog. He said she was the runt. To which I replied "I was the runt remember". And now I'm the tallest and muscular man in my family. But Bella has been a life saver for both me and my brother. Shes as sweet as they make dogs, but will defend her home without hesitation. Great piranease are amazing dogs. Mine is 4 years old and 118lbs. And she ain't fat! Lol.

Years ago, during my lunch pause, I used to take a walk in the little park close to my office building. Quite often I saw a man in a scooter walking his 2 dogs, a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Pyrenee. But them being always on the move, I didn't get a chance to meet them. Till that one day. He stopped, and we had a small talk, while his dogs were wagging their tails like crazy. Then I started to pet the Pyrenee. All of a sudden he jumped up on me, laying his paws on my shoulders in an attempt to lick my face! That was and still is the only time in my life that I stood face to face with a dog, looking him straight into his beautiful eyes! And I'm 6 ft tall... Needless to say that I'll never will forget those precious moments!

After 4 days of putting up flyers all over the place, we finally got her back. She got sick about six months later. Our vet saved her life, then 1 yr. later she got sick again and the vet saved her again. Then a couple days later she died. It was horrible.
