I adopted a rescue who just wouldn't connect with anyone, driving away potential adopters. When I got to the shelter after a 3 hour drive,he just completely ignored me and paced up and down the hallway. I wasn't leaving without him so I waited patiently. At one point I got off the floor and sat in a chair to give him space. I guess he realized I wasn't going away like others had, and suddenly, after ignoring me for half an hour, he ran over and jumped in my lap! He had decided I was the right person. He and I are inseparable now, and he's very protective and possessive of me now, and I make sure he never has cause to regret his decision to adopt me! The change in him has been amazing, and the vet said whatever I'm doing to keep on doing it. Really, all I do is give him lots of love and spoil him rotten! The dog no one wanted has become a very happy, loving dog. I couldn't be happier!

Dogs are the best four legged friends 🥰. When they are in a loving home, you can have a really bad, frustrating day. When you come home, and they see you, tails wagging, and just want to jump on you and give you their love, all your days frustrations just fly away. They truly lift your spirits. Deep down, i think it's because we know that dogs can't do some of the things that give us humans joy, like driving your favorite car, taking a vacation where you want, eating so many types of food, going to a great concert or show, etc. They lead a relatively simple life, running in the park, going to the beach, playing with us. For them to give us so much joy even after they have experienced so much pain and suffering is truly heartwarming. Dogs Rule 😇

The man who adopted this pecious animal is amazing and to be honoured. You are amazing and a mentor to all people who want and have the gifts to give to our most special animals/friends who are in need of shelter, food and love. The rest is a gift from the animal to us-- it is most special and says so much about the adoptive parent/s. God Bless You for all that you do. You are a special person! Blessings upon you 100 fold.

Trust from an abused dog or one with a traumatic background is precious! My girl is that way -- we bonded almost immediately but it took time for her to trust others

I love the people who take a chance on "the impossible animal", the ones that don't seem 'manageable' and then turning it around into something so special. ❤

I just love "success" stories like this one, especially ones involving dogs/animals that seem to have lost trust in humans. I'm so glad things worked out well for both of them. Congratulations, and infinitely more happy dog days ahead.

So beautiful. I was a foster fail 12 years ago. I was "pressured" into taking a "10 yr old" German Shepherd (I think he was older) as a foster. OK, truth: I just could not leave him in the shelter after looking into his eyes. I agreed to foster him, and, of course, I was a foster fail. His last two years of his life he was the Emperor of my heart. Such a sweet dog. Not in good shape, but SO worth it. Cannot describe how fostering / adopting an older dog can be such magic. RIP, Arthur!!

This dogs fear was palpable. When she finally realized she was safe she gave it all. Made me think of my dear Patti. She would sleep by me. , on me not even room for a piece of paper between us. She claimed me over my husband a even when we sat together she would back into place and force him to give way. She was one determined gal! Those 10 years were so precious and yet so short. I’m grateful there are people like you on this earth
