Right and toru was later like "oh no little one, shite rolls down hill and she hated me so you are getting beat up a little too" and then the original cat is like "Oh I love this sweet baby". Lol. Likely angering Toru too. Not only was it not the baby anymore but the original cat liked it right off the bat to add insult to injury.

Those cats act like the typical siblings like humans. I know we use to pick at each other. Wrestling around all the time. My father taught us Indian leg wrestling and I was the only girl and youngest. How did all that love and kisses turn to wrestling and playing around and getting into this form of fun. Haha.

We’ve had the complete opposite effect here at our house. I do rescue in fostering and my current three are all foster failures that I got as tiny babies. Seven years after the first foster failure the next foster failure was a pair of siblings. They got along like siblings sometimes do as kids until they become older and then they don’t like each other anymore. Seven years later they still don’t like each other. Sometimes they will do what your first two did and groom each other in a loving way or sleep next to each other but once one wakes up and realizes what’s going on all hell breaks loose again. There’s such interesting, unique and individual characters. Now when I foster kittens I test them with the oldest one who was my bottle baby and keep them far from the twins. I definitely learned my lesson about Projecting human emotions on felines. It’s not a bad thing to separate them.

Thanks. We're having such difficult times now. The old cat doesn't accept the new cat, hissing at her and not being happy at all. While the new one is really nice and modest and amenable and amicable and curious cat. So you said it took six months.... Well, that'd be great if all in all they could live together, even six months is ok. :) All the best to your cats!

I've learned that the cats will always work it out to be able to coexist in peace. Whenever I introduce a new kitten or cat to my resident adult cats I try to give my resident cats extra attention and speak to them kindly so they know this new one isn't a threat. It's important to not interfere or react when the cats display disapproval.. staying patient and calm and loving on them all seems to work best.. after one to two weeks they're best friends. Also important to allow adult cats that are mentally balanced to discipline and establish boundaries with new kittens. What may look rough is not hurting the kitten at all.. cats are truly amazing!❤❤❤❤❤

Hello. It is very important not to let one cat bully the other. But it must be done with love. Otherwise, you risk antagonizing them against each other. I personally had such a situation last year when I rescued a newborn baby kitten who later became a member of our family. She was obsessed with her big sister. With a lot of patience and love, I showed her that she shouldn't be harassed.

Sounds like when I brought home my kitten my adult cat went into the bedroom got on the bed turned her back to me & sat there for two eeeks pouting. I took her food to her, one of their boxes was close by but other than that she was pis_ed! Now 2 years later they play, wash each other a bit and generally get along fine. It’s just the adjustment period at the first only advise be carefully if one is a kitten because obviously they can’t really defend themselves if the adult were to attack. That never happened with us but I do know it does in some cases. 🐾🐾😺😺❤️❤️🐾

I adopted a one-year-old male cat last July. I did everything by the books to introduce him slowly to my resident female cat Lily. Both cats had a history of being socialized with other felines. It has been 10 months, and the two cats cannot be kept in the same room. My female is so scared and defensive when she sees him that I am afraid that it will get real ugly and someone will get hurt. I may have to rehome him.

Try getting Feliway pheromones. It comes in a collar, spray & best for your case might be the diffuser for multiple cats to get along. It's basically the same pheromones a mother cat releases to let her kittens know they're safe. A lot of vets will use the diffusers in their office too. It's worth a shot to see if it will work. The collar would always be where ever the cats us & lasts 30 days. But if I remember right I think the diffuser has something extra specific to a multi cat home to help them get along. Or you could even use both. The spray is more for occasional use on a towel for things like a vet visit. Beware getting a different brand. I tried Relaxicat only to find out it has 0.10% pheromones compared to Feliways 10% pheromones. So compare well before buying. You might also try some catnip spray for enjoyment near each other. Just make sure to spray an area for each cat a bit away from each other so they have their own areas to enjoy. Then gradually bring them closer together. It's worth trying Feliway to see if it will help. It probably won't solve everything but might allow your female to relax enough to gradually get used to the boy cat. Just tolerating each other would be a good first step but it will take some work to get there. Good luck with them.

Didn't want anything to do with him. One day we came home and he had a chunk missing from his nose. After that they were best friends.

If it’s been a year they likely are never going to get better because they likely despise each other. Never never never get another animal without introducing them first. There have been cases animals mauling each other cause they want to kill each other. You can’t just drop what they consider an intruder into its home and expect it to love it. It isn’t uncommon for the animals to hate each other to the point of wanting to kill each other and that’s what it sounds like with yours. I would recommend getting professional help and if that doesn’t help rehoming one of them would be the best option so that they’re no longer miserable.

letting them fight it out is not a good idea. these people were very lucky it went well. unless you have a bomb proof cat i don't suggest you foster you upset your own cats and they should be your first priority. i had a beautiful boy for 17 years and he was okay welcoming several cats that joined our family over his 17 years he was a bomb proof cat.
