These creatures can singlehandedly change a person's life. They just give you so much hope and you tend to have something to look forward to. Take care of animals and if you can't, just leave them alone and don't maltreat them.

When an animal passes away so sudden without warning, it changes you as a person. One of my cats who used to sleep on my pillow with me was found on the kitchentable one morning. Lifeless. The sorrow was overwhelming and he hadnt showed any problems day or days before that. My other cat became 21 years and i had the best farewell with her. Two different outcomes from them passning away. It says time heals all wounds, but thats not true. TIme only makes it easier to forget. 😥

Simone's with our beloved pets on the other side... where we will meet again. My elderly Mom has been dreaming about our rescue GSD we had when we were children. The two of them had such an extraordinary bond. I always think of them at the same time, too. Thank you to everyone who helps animals... and who are kind to the ones you've got. It means so much.

You are absolutely right about the mental health aspect. When I was at my worst with depression/anxiety/OCD, my Mama was taken ill, she fell into a coma but came back to me after a week of it. I did all aftercare for her when she came home from the hospital & it made a huge difference to my mental health issues as all I did was concentrate on her. When my Pops died 2 years ago I had my wonderful rescue 4 legged daughter Lola (a Sprollie) who was my rock & helped me so much through the mental side of that. When us 'mental nutters' have to dig deep to help others it is a blessing for us.

My dear, you have found the secret to dealing with the loss of a loved one......bring joy back into your life by giving your love to another being. Cat, dog, child, grandpa or grandma......puppies and kittens work the fastest majic though, for obvious reasons, they need us the most. I am sorry for your loss. Probably every single viewer of your story knows this pain all too well. Wishing you and your fosters long life and happiness.

I lost my Obi not to long ago, had him 18 years. This week I took in a 3 year old cat who was rehomed after being neglected and ignored. I knew it would be work but it was worth it, she is so loving and thriving. She healed my grief and I'm here to heal hers. I know my buddy boy would want me to show love like I did with him. Foster parents for pets are very important and I thank and bless them.

Fostering, I completely agree, is hands-down, the best medicine for grief. When my previous cat passed away, we were so bonded that it took me six years to get another cat! It’s too long a story to write here how I knew that Logan should come home with me after that, but he lived for 19 years as what I referred to as my emotional support animal because he was so amazingly sweet and loving. Three months after his passing, it just seems so wrong to get another cat because I knew no one could be like my last two cats, but I started fostering very depressed and overwhelmed cats at the shelter where I volunteer. It is the most wonderful experience showing them that people can be kind and loving. It’s been a real gift!

My little girl Reca has helped me a lot. I was extremely depressed and felt like everything was just an unchanging routine, until the day I was walking to work and heard the saddest little mew. She was so stuck in a bush we had to cut her out of it, and had a case of earmites so bad they were crawling around her body. It has almost been a year, and I am pretty sure that 11 week old kitten is the reason I am happy today. We just moved to my first apartment yesterday, and she is just happy to vome along 🥰

So very true what this lovely lady said... My little fur baby gives me a reason to get up in the morning, otherwise I may stay in bed, but jack doesn't care 🙀 I have to get up and feed him...and he loves me no matter what 💞🙀 Nothing like the love of an animal... And those baby kittens are so adorable 💕

Amen. I have been suffering from an autoinmune disease for 10 years now and got really depressed because of meds and all. And then two years ago my little fur baby came along. He has changed my life for the absolute better. He has given me a reason to go on. To live each day. To not focus on the physical pain. He senses when I don't feel good physically or emotionally. But he just looks into my eyes and reminds me of how beautiful life is. Taking care of him has done so much more for me than any medication. He has healed my broken heart.💖

I found a litter of 5 kittens at work on Halloween while it bagan snowing. My coworkers and I each took one. My little one went to the vet the next day. I learned how to feed George, stimulate him so he could eliminate waste. He needed to be kept warm. He began opening his eyes 3 days later, so did his brothers. Georgie grew up to be very handsome and loved. I kept him. He bonded with me as my cats do.
