Yep! I feed four community kitties (all of them are adults lol) daily including one cat who lives in a nearby neighborhood but visits me daily and I feed him, as well as my adopted kitty cat Tigger who showed up in my life last June which made 2020 more interesting. Whenever I go feed one cat who recognizes my steps (I'm guessing) and comes out to meow at me, one or two or even three show up as well which has me running back inside to get them their food. It's pricey but I enjoy feeding them and seeing how they trust me. Or at the very least know I feed them and mean them no harm.

He went back to their little kitty nest and told his siblings "There's a really lovely hooman lady, who's filling my belly with foods. You come too and she'll fill your bellies as well" !! 😂 So happy that you've taken on care and ownership of the four remaining kitties. Getting them spayed and neutered is also very responsible, or you'd have had a garden full of in-bred kittens! Plus, getting them all their shots, as well as the regular meals you're providing is so caring and will give the birds and small rodents in the neighbourhood a chance of a longer life, instead of becoming the next meal. Terrific knock-on effect!! Well done! 💖

@jaylyn72853 жыл бұрын
@@desratlinda8639 I meant that the kittens are now getting regular meals, so won't be killing for food. It's true that cats like the thrill of the hunt tho but the fact they are not hungry may save a few little creatures as the necessity won't be there.
@razimove4383 жыл бұрын
actually it's not ideal that the birds and rodents live longer, as stray cats and other animals help to control populations.
@krisaaron57712 жыл бұрын
We were getting a serious rodent problem -- field mice and a few rats were attracted by the seed under the bird feeder and our elderly (and portly) felines weren't doing anything about it. THEN two young adults moved in from the barn across the street and the rodent population dropped noticeably!! We've asked them to leave the birds alone, and other some stalking and a few practical jokes (cat pops up from beneath deck: "SURPRISE!!!") they've stopped taking feathered trophies. Or maybe the birds are just getting smarter? I suspect insecticides sprayed on the fields is killing more birds than domestic cats kill.

Amen. Too many humans (especially Bible thumpers) think non-humans (I hate saying "animals," since we're literally animals, too, just by far the worst ones) are here for us to do what we please with/to them, but it's the exact opposite. Non-humans were here long before us. As an agnostic, I am not arrogant enough to think I can know if we were created by a higher being or if we somehow just randomly came into being (neither makes sense to me, but I digress), but if we were, I 100% believe we were made to look after other animals. We're supposed to be they're protectors, yet so many of us would rather be their destroyers.
@Viking88882 жыл бұрын
@@englishatheart It is definitely beyond the comprehension of humans to fathom that an all powerful being has always been in existence seeing as we all have a beginning and and end, but it is plausible where as the big bang "THEORY" (meaning an unproven hypothesis) is not. Everything in our world is so incredibly complex that having it all just pop into existence randomly is just not possible. Everything on earth has had a maker. Houses? someone had to build them. They didn't just spontaneously materialize. Humans, kittens, puppies etc? Well, we understand the biology of how they come into existence...at least the basics right? 😉 There's a reason why a creator makes sense. We understand that because creation has been part of our lives from the get go. If things just popped into existence in front of our eyes, well, we would probably all think differently! Unfortunately though, this world has so many ideas that bombard us, it can be so confusing to know what is truth and what is.....umm, fake news! I have known a lot of people that are either confused about God, or don't believe in him at all. The main reason? It comes down to the fact they can't understand how an all powerful being would allow the horrible things we witness everyday. But, there's a bigger picture that so many don't see and a time when he won't allow wickedness to exist. The worse things get, the closer we are to that time.

I'm not sure they were true feral because if one kitten adapted to humans so quickly they must have had care from a human beforehand. It's a shame no attempt was made to try to rehome the others. That's how I grew up with Frisky & Mitzy...they adopted us! So grateful my Mother took them in to be part of the family ❤

It's a blessing that you know that they're feral and accept them for that. Get the love where you can and not try to force them indoors. Thank you for that.

Good for this person. Most people drag them into their homes where they can poke at the cats but you provided safety and allowed them to do as they like.

Thank you for helping, and continuing to help, all of these beautiful kittens. It's great that this nice, young couple were able to get the feral ones fixed and vaccinated as well. They certainly showed up at the right house.

I truly believe angels sometimes guide these kitties in medical need to those who can help them. Many years ago, my wife and I were exiting our front door. A Norwegian Forest Cat kitten was sitting on a table, outside our door. He was so skinny, tried to meow, but no sound came out. He let us put him in a carrier, took him to the vet. The vet gave him medications for upper respiratory infection. We took him home, loved and cared for him. A couple months later he became one of the most affectionate and loving kitten I've ever had. We named him angel. And he lived up to his name.

Dang... I'm not even a cat lover and this is so uplifting! I'm not even a cat person and I just adore this couple. But sweethearts. It really is a vision of how to live all over the planet, isn't it?

The most perfect way to help strays in your community. I have never lived anyplace where stray dogs and cats just roam free. I would be broke if I did.

Hats off to you sweet lady and your partner because getting spayed and neutered is not cheap at all and I live in England but the love you have shown even though you have allergies is outstanding, there are more people in this world that do good but don't get the credit but instead all we hear is about the ones who are bad because that sells and safe and boring doesn't. It does sell I crave to see nice news reports it's nothing but doom and gloom. Thank you for sharing your story.
