That's not at all true. They found a more accomodating refuge for these traumatized organisms, organisms enslaved and traumatized by giant agri and hellish human factory farms. They did not romantically set out to provide them with a beach front vacation rather they sought some refuge for these lone survivors because it speaks to our own natural orientation towards the common good and symbiotic renaturalization (and rewilding). We must stop romanticizing and anthropomorphizing these autonomous and self-actualizing FELLOW inhabitants of this rare earth. Such empathy for all living things should once again be the norm not as it is today the sad exception wholly due to systems of competition, greed and hierarchy.

Thereby, it's not sustainable to treat the animals right, give them space and let them grow old. Calves will always be taken from their moms. Moms will always end up becoming depressed after the 2nd or 3rd time. The animals will always be overfed in order to maximize profits. You're describing some sort of Valhalla slaughterhouse. It just doesn't exist.

Reminds me of a piglet that me and my dad rescued. She was almost frozen she was separated from her mom. We placed her in a tub of warm water on our woodburner stove. Brought her back from the brink of death. I named her Bridget and she was the smartest pet I've ever owned, and I miss her dearly.

Someone I trained with grew up on a sheep farm in Wales. They used to put the hypothermic lambs in the 'wood-drying' bit of the Aga stove (big wood-burning range) to warm up. They had one lamb who remembered where it was that was nice and warm, and would be alerted to her having crept into the kitchen by the smell of singed wool coming from the Aga : )

Cows only make milk if they have a baby, so milk farmers will make sure they have a baby for milk production, but then sell the male babies for slaughter. Female babies will most likely be either sold or raised away from the mom to be a future milk cow also.

Actually, humans are the same. We all want to be accepted, to feel part of a group, but rejection and perpetuated violence makes people feel inadequate and ashamed, so we develop this belief that we need something external to feel validated and be worth something; like wealth, power, stardom, looking a certain way, feeling superior at something, being perfect, pleasing other people, taking alcohol and drugs, etc. It's the *lack of love* that's responsible for these things, so it's important to show other people the same respect and kindness that we would all need for ourselves, and to understand that we have the same capacity for love, care, and joy that we like to see in free happy animals. If all children were raised this way, the world would be a much better place.

Calves are SO sweet... every one we had on the farm became spoiled. Our bull, Billy, LOVED us kids, and even tolerated us trying... unsuccessfully... to ride him. He was a pure bred Hereford. All our critters loved to be petted and curried. I loved our cows. As I said, they DO become accustomed to attention from people.

Truth be told: dairy cows make terrible moms. I follow a dairy farmer on youtube and fb and he is open and transparent about dairy farming. I feel zero guilt, bc the calves get better colostrum and milk than their mothers could give them. Its specially formulated. AI is better than bulling bc bulls can hurt cows and often breed them too soon after birth. Farmers help make sure the cows have adequate time and only breed them when they show signs they want to be bred. Often mounting other cows. Young bulls are often sold as studs to some farms who keep them for breeding cows with thru AI, or may go for veal, but they must be young HEALTHY cows for that. Look up TDF honest farming. He and others like him have channels dedicated to educating folks about the dairy industry. Not all dairy farms kill male calves. They DO NEED bulls to make new cows with. Trust me. They have more respect for the health and welfare of their livestock more than PETA does for any animal it "saved". They kill 98% of the animals they "save". Just like kill shelters

I watch a lot of rescue videos and all rescuers know it's about the love factor. I've seen people rescue old cats and dogs who are given a short time as they are in the dying process, and they want to give them a home for their last days. Then they go home and get loved up and they're prancing around like happy kids and go on living a lot longer, sometimes years longer. It's magical.

This whole thing is kinda a tiny bit crazy. They used how much gasoline to move two animals across how many states? Not very green behaviour. I'm sure a farm near them could have taken these animals. If I asked you to take a broken human, indigent, with health problems, on a 21 hour trip, would you do it? Likely not, because humans are challenging, and might not do a happy dance for our video. By the way, you might enjoy checking out The Oregon Zoo (on Facebook, I believe) - especially when they take their penguins out for walks. Very similar: someone thought, "maybe these penguins might like to go play in the forest?" (Or also they do things like letting the sloths hang out with dolphins - stuff like that.) I imagine it's very enriching for the animals! Usually they have the whole big wide world to explore. I know that being in a zoo is not ideal, but if they can make their lives full and enjoyable while they're there then it will make their lives a bit better. 💚

As a child I lived on a farm and we had a beagel hunting dog that stayed in the old corn crib all the time, went out to feed her one morning and she had baby possums sucking on her..She had lost her pups and evidently the possums had lost their mom.. she raised them up as long as she had milk.. It made the local news...LOL I always thought it was so cool though..Animals are better than humans alot of the time!!!! If those animals weren't able to live together at least in close proximity then we would've not kept that animal. And I just thought, perhaps as this dairy farmer seems to have some conscience about the cruelty he’s inflicting and lets a calf be rescued (not sure if they pay him) maybe he’ll go on to do more good things. Like let older mothers be rescued when they’ve finished (the raping, birthing of more poor babies)and can’t milk any more, instead of going to be murdered. I’ve seen the odd mother get reunited with their child, and maybe Eli will see his mother again 🤞❤️

@@notstressmess1883 that’s not how the system works. The animals are either used for dairy or meat. They all live horrible lives and then they’re slaughtered. No one is just using them and then setting them free. It doesn’t happen. Even if it did, this baby cow would still be separated from his mother. That is the industry. Grass fed, free range, it doesn’t change that system. It’s just a heftier price tag and false belief that somehow this is okay.

Go vegan. Dodo doesn’t explicitly say that because they know how much veganism is hated. But it’s VERY clear through their videos that it’s their message. Stop the cycle of slaughter, sadness and environmental destruction. You don’t have to do it overnight. And every little bit counts for these sweet, beautiful, loving animals.
