This made me cry! I've rescued 8 feral cats that have shown up at my house, over the years, and I would have been heartbroken if I couldn't bring them inside. So glad the landlord/management company had a change of heart. 🥰

I so agree with you. We had a feral colony but I managed to get close to a few and took them in but they wanted out during the day. So they come in about 9pm when my husband and dog go upstairs to bed and go out in the morning when I go to work around 5:30.

It took 3yrs before Joplin came into my lap for more than 10-15sec Let me assure you, she's my dog's cat, not mine. She followed HIM home, full face hug. I found Jack two blocks from my mom's house. 6-8wks later, he was strong enough to walk the street. The first night we got to the end of the block, this little fkn furball CHARGES HIM, rolls over with her belly and hugs his snout. It's been 3yrs and I've been feeding her ever since

Never use blankets or towels in an outdoor box for a cat because the blankets will freeze if they get cold or wet. Always use straw

Agree, and the animal is likely to get hyperthermia when amongst frozen blankets. I set up an outdoor cat house years ago with straw so that it would be warm.

I rescued a tiny baby kitten that someone dropped into my yard and then moved away. It took time watching this kitten on my cameras before I realized it was too small to catch rodents and was getting very thin. I started feeding her and realized she was staying in the lower part of my yard. She was terrified of everything as we have coyotes and 40 pound raccoons that roam here. And then I noticed if I came home after dark, she would be on the roof waiting for me. She would come when I called her and I would bring her in to the catio for the night. (I also have a rescue from three years ago that usually occupies the catio. ) I would let her out in the morning and bring her in at night . Soon I kept her in full time. She could see my other cat through the sliding glass door, hoping they could get use to each other. When the weather is started getting colder, I made her a cardboard apartment with the heater and a heating pad in her bed. She felt safe there. I got her fixed , and she stayed in the catio for a spell so he hormones could subside. Soon after she was let in the house for short periods to get used to my other rescue cat. She is in full time now, and about 7 months old now. I am so happy that they are getting to be great friends. My male is teaching her the house rules🥰 but no one has hurt the other. I am just super happy. The transition was smooth and neither Cat has to be lonely anymore.❤

I took in a cat last summer. I figured it was just another stray because we have many roaming around my neighborhood but about a month later, I was out walking my dog and saw a missing cat sign posted and the photo of the cat looked like the tabby I took in. After staring at it for a few more seconds, I realized it was the same exact tabby. I was pretty bummed out since I knew I had to text the owner and return the cat. While texting the owner, we realized we actually lived only a few houses down from each other. When she came by to pick up the cat, she said it might've ran away because she has 2 other cats and 2 other dogs living with her. It was pretty sad to see her go but about a few weeks later I opened my door, and to my surprise, the tabby was sitting in front of it waiting for me and ran right back into my house. I texted the owner again to let her know her cat was back thinking she'd come back for it but she just said ok thank you and never heard back from her again. I figured she knew she couldn't force the cat to stay with her if it didn't want to, so she just accepted it. The tabby has been happily living with me ever since.

Cats usually chooses their human. Your cat knew she’ll be spoiled in your home because she’ll be the only cat as opposed to the original owner where she had to compete for attention against her other pets. ❤

A very similar situation occurred with me only I knew where the kitten lived. The children were very rough with the kitten and every morning the poor thing was camped on my doorstep begging to come in. The last straw was when the kids' mom told them to throw the cat out while they were eating dinner, and they took it literally. The older child threw the kitten out the door and into a support pillar and broke its leg! There's more to the story, but in the end I asked if I could have the kitten and they said yes. He lived with me for 18 years until he passed away of old age.

I too rescued and adopted my cat, he had an owner though she never fed him or let him inside. He's now about eighteen years old, one eye and two canine teeth down and a little senile, leaving little pee and poop gifts indoors because he can't find his army of litter trays. He's been there for me through a divorce and my dog dying, and I love him loads. I've rambled on far too much now, take care!
