I agree. And to befriend a pig, pigs are very friendly and affectionate as long as you don't take their trust. What's so sad is how easy it is to refrain from taking it yet how horribly pigs are treated on factory farms and how terrified they become of people as a result, these are the same animals which will become so kind and friendly to you if you do the one very simple thing of not harming them. It's therefore very easy to not make pigs frightened of you and to make them love you, just don't harm them. That's what makes it so sad, how many people can't refrain from doing that to an animal so friendly and affectionate and asks for so little

Well, statistically speaking, you are wrong. I mean yeah even a cockroach can be your pet and love you, but how many will you feed, and take care of, but still will just go away? It's really rare what did happen to that man and it feels so special just because of that. Feed and pet a cat, dog, horse, pig, goat, sheep etc, and you will make a friend 90% in less than a week. Feed anything else for months and there is a small chance to succeed. Those animals are used to live with people around them. It's way easier to win their trust. With anything else, you still have a chance, but it's harder and it may never happen.

@@blackbeard108th5 Hummingbirds have a crazy intense metabolism. They eat till full eight times an hour. They don't even sleep- they enter what's called Torpor which is more akin to hibernation. Sleep would literally burn up too much energy and they'd starve over night. They also have really good memories and can be fiercely territorial, depending on how available food is. In fact, Aztecs believed that their warriors reincarnated as hummingbirds because of how fierce they could be. So bek's interpretation is probably fairly close to the mark.

Hummingbirds can be very bold and territorial. They've recently returned and started revisiting the feeder I've set out. When I've gone outside at times to get a closer look, it hasn't been uncommon for one to zoom in a couple or so feet from my face -- angrily go "ffwweeeeeep!" -- then zoom off out of sight. I'm thinking I really should don safety glasses next time!

So basically Hector gets the equivalent of DoorDash delivery every day. He's got it made. We've never tried hand feeding but we have several feeders and about 6 birds living here and growing. They're very comfortable around us now. We put a bird bath underneath the feeder, it didn't get much action until we added tall lattice and vine plants on each side so the predatory birds can't get the little birds and now there is constant activity. The hummingbirds even started using the bird bath too. We didn't even know they drank water until we saw them. A grey squirrel even started climbing up and drinking from the bird bath every day too. Super fun watching the busy little world going on right in your backyard, you just have to stop and look. 👍👌✌
