It was sold wrong, the promos looked like it was going to be a goofy comedy, with that clip when he says to her "you have to sing in a volume that not only dogs can hear", instead of a charming rom com. I love the movie and I have seen it like five times, and I can't avoid a teary eye during the "don't write me off, just yet" song/scene.

Fifteen years later (and almost thirteen years of marriage), it was (and still is) one of the only movies we both like. We watch it annually on our first-date anniversary. Hugh grant has grown into such a brilliant actor. he started off in foppish pretty boy roles & RomComs which didnt really give him much to work with. But I think he shoulda got an oscar for Paddington 2(rotten tomatoes best reviewed film of all time at 100% it just overtook Citizen kane). He is also incerdible in The Undoing where he totally outshines Nicole kidman & has won major awards like golden globe & critics choice this past year.

Not necessarily my favorite scene, but I like the scene where Cora was listening to their demo of "Way Back Into Love" at the heliport, and then reacting so graciously. The buildup to that scene was nice too, with Sophie and Alex rushing to catch a cab to meet Cora.
