The VW Virtus GT is one of the most hyped up platforms currently in India in terms of the aftermarket! Just recently during the summer, Code 6 was able to crack the locked ECU of the Virtus GT and made India's first Stage 2 tuned example! But, the power figures were sub-par to be honest at just 185HP! 380nm torque on the DQ200? God save the gearbox. There was a saying that the DQ200 can't go beyond 250 without blowing the gearbox..

I think you have your numbers mixed up. DQ200 cant go beyond 250bhp, cars currently have 150bhp in stock. Torque limit is different.

It can handle upto 350 and with a kevlar clutch upgrade DQ200 can handle 450nm+ torque.

Yeah that’s why I’m keeping my GT stock for the moment …185hp isn’t enough for price we pay…Wait till the tune gets at least as good as the T-roc stage 2 which produces 210hp with the same ea211 1.5 TSI. To all my 1.5 people if you really want a tune, go for stage 1 as it gets nearly 180 hp from an ecu remap. For now let’s wait patiently 😅❤….Also there is no surprise that Hyundai Verna is pushing great numbers, because the 1.5 Tgdi is actually derived from the 1.6 TGDi which is there in the i20 N international model which is a potent unit. So now you know why Verna outperforms Virtus😉❤

@@Dke1999ffire I guess no virtuses have been dynoed yet…maybe they are making 210 horses…on the other hand t roc and karoqs have been dynoed and they are making 210 hps..still I would recommend to wait for a much healthier tune 😊

No way 1.5 tsi produces 210 hp. Its just made up numbers. This is not a low compression engine like ea888 gen 3a/4a. This is miller cycle engine just like 2.0 tsi ea888 gen 3b. These engines have high compression ratio and cannot be tuned much. I know these engines because i own both superb 2.0 tsi sportline and slavia 1.5 tsi. Its better to tune them to stage 1 and call it a day. Even for that these cars require better intake and intercooler for that 20-25 percent gains in power. My superb 2.0 tsi is tuned to stage1 240hp with 95 ron fuel and can be pushed to 265 hp max on 98 ron. If u want real power then go to gen3a which can go upto 380hp with is38 turbo.

Car reviewers.. stop saying the blanket statement : dq200 is bound to fail. First, have the data to back up the claim. Just a few team bhp reviews and a handful of dsg replacement doesn't mean a globally used gearbox will fail everytime.

Actually not few but many many failures of this gearbox especially when you see old skoda superb petrol dq 200 failed too much but diesel superb with dq250 almost never fails not even close Dq200 was one of the reasons for poor resales of skoda superb and other cars

@mohitkatta7117 do you have any report or any numbers for dogs failed in the past 3 to 4 years? Even vw has told they have improved dq200. So we need to know how much is the failure percentage post 2017, 2018 manufactured cars

​@@ssabt12 Dq 200 is a dry gear box which doesnt have liquid cooling which makes it more sensitive to the heat and the clutch pack max torque is 250nm which is why 1.8 tsi is limited to 250nm which can produce upto 320nm on stock map. Dq200 is not suitable for our stop and go traffic. if someone tunes their dq200 gearbox car then it will even faster due to additional wear and tear , heat.

One looks like a squid the other sounds like it’s broken. This was a very bad example. Some cars can be tuned, the 1.5 and DQ200 should be bloody left alone. You will also kill that dry clutch gearbox with more than it’s rated 250NM limits

If at all possible retrofit and replace DQ200 with DQ250, then tuning Virtus 1.5 to Stage 2 makes sense. Otherwise DQ200 will be a ticking time bomb.

Vw skoda is known for power , handling and tuner friendly. But newer versions are becoming lifeless. Vw india should rethink their strategy. Car enthusiasts started shifting towards verna. Verna if tuned properly it can pull up good amount of top speed till 240 kms) hr. What if verna can gets bilestin from Europe. Better vw pull up the sock and work up in these areas than cosmetic upgrades

I driven all main sedans sold in indian market and verna feels lifeless in comparison to those cars even hollywood movies like Fast&furious makes fun of Hundai Also my friend owns a verna crdi and he is about to sell it because it’s warranty period is over and the car is extremely unreliable it’s turbo had to be changed twice and a whole lot of other problems my cousin has a Honda city and he hasn’t faced a single issue till date its been 3 years the fit and finish the comfort of the seats and the high revving ivtec it makes u feel alive unlike the soulless hubsai cars

Damn that exhaust sound was painfully bad 😨 With all these mods in mind, it’s almost a 25lk car. There are better platforms with proven reliability to start with if you’re going down the tuning route in the used car market. Even a used Octavia with the tried and tested E888 would make so much more sense than this. Might not be too hard to extract power from this engine but the clutch, flywheel etc I believe have very low tolerance for the extra torque. Might not be worth tuning this car after all.

Lowering springs defeats the usp of virtus.. the 179mm gc With lowered car.. the car downgrades from a true grand tourer to a showpiece car

But track no way mate Abarth is a performance car verna is not that . It's not a normal punto Abarth badge is different don't underestimate. It's handling is way better a class apart than verna
