"Is this a recap season or something new?" No, what we got here is a total retcon. They seem to be saying the seasons after this point were all simulations; now we're gonna see what really happened. Now retconning the last few seasons to the point that they never happened, regardless of how bad they've gotten, is a risky move, but we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

Which sucks since, for all its flaws, Seasons 15-17 had its shining moments. Grif, Donut and Doc had character development, Locus started his redemption arc, Kaikana at long last became a main character once again, there were some funny moments, etc. And now it's all gone apparently.

"now we're gonna see what really happened." Don't think this is the case either. The end of the trailer implies that this season will be one final additional simulation, that may also serve to uncover one final buried memory inside of Epsilon.

@@lisboah I'd say Season 15 was actually really good for a one season arc. Season 16 was genuinely pretty bad. Season 17 was much better in comparison to 16 but still had to deal with being a direct continuation of it. We don't need to talk about Zero. So yeah those 3 seasons weren't completely terrible. But to be honest, I don't mind retconning them all as a simulation. In any other show it would feel like a massive shark jump but this show has already had a full season happen in a simulation so it's not like this is a new concept. I'm excited to see what they do here.

2:52 I think that's suppoused to be Sigma, the fire ai. It looks like Frodo won't come back to voice him which explains the voice change in this trailer

If you are wondering who this mysterious character is. It's Sigma (that fiery AI fragment that appeared in Season 10, the one that turned Agent Maine into the Meta). He started burning in 4:46, and he's the only AI fragment that doesn't appear in 5:02 alongside Epsilon-Church.

@@keyblademasterclark He appears on some very quick occasions, but he never plays a role nor speaks. Even Eta and Iota play a bigger role during the Chorus Trilogy than he did.

@@keyblademasterclark He appears: -That scene in Season 10. -For a few seconds while Epsilon was planning to aid Carolina for that macro-second back in Season 12. -For a few seconds when Epsilon is giving his farewell at the end of Season 13.

Now that they've retconned it a simulation, my headcanon is that Zero was Epsilon turning one of Sarge's movie trailers into a full film. Why else have only old members of Blue Team get hurt?

Supposedly this season takes place right after where S13 ended off. The other seasons and Zero was a simulation that church was running. This one will be the last, which Sigma gave him an idea on what to do with this one. (He has different voice because Elijah Woods doesn't plan on coming back)

Effectively Church is running through multiple simulations to make sure his sacrifice will actually be capable of saving everyone, and given that he said I guesses he'll never know, Church won't be alive to see the end of this final showdown regardless if weather or not the others make it.

OPINION: As this is the last season, let's see how this turns out. Kyle, I think the series would be worth reacting with Kirby. But much later. Considering how much that you both are reacting to. Also, once DBZ abridged is finished/ caught up then I think machinaabridged should be next. As for red versus blue, if the final season doesn't do it, then you should at least react with seasons 1 through 13 with Kirby. I think that would be a good journey. But if you feel like it isn't worth it considering the copyright and the length, then you do not have to do it. It's up to you. Whichever you decide, I still look forward to your (and Kirby's) reactions nonetheless. You are after all the only duck that goes moo. 🦆 🐄

@theduckgoesmoo if you learn more about their work history with the voice actors/friends and work ethic. They do the same to them and even retconn in real life. So this is no surprise to me they shoot themselves in the foot so much there is nothing left and yet they keep finding more.

@@jimwatson1013it’s unfortunate because they used to be fine with reactions, as long as it wasn’t just straight reuploads of the videos with no commentary. But I guess that’s what happens when they sell out to a parent company. It’s too bad. They used to be a great company. I went to the first RTX and got a poster signed by like five people maybe, and my dickhead stepdad threw it out. My mom emailed them and they sent me a new one signed by everybody who was at the company at the time. It has Monty’s signature and everything.

from a writing perspective it would taint the ending to s13 a lil to bring church back but from a logical perspective theres no reason they cant since as harsh as it is to say hes just data which means they can just make him again kinda like caboose basically did. personally id be happy to have him back so long as the reasoning wasnt bs like "oh no he wasnt actually gone he just left to recover" or "right before he was destroyed someone took him" or somethin, like i said logically theres no reason they cant just remake him but to me with how 13 ended church made it sound like he could have been planning to refragment himself so hed be able to operate the meta armor and i think it would be a cool way to go of instead of bringing church back instead bring the fragments back and everyone but doc gets a fragment, cause the show loves to dunk on doc and everyone gettin a fragment but him sounds like somethin that would happen lol

I believe this is supposed to be a retcon of everything after season 13 which is probably for the best because those latter seasons weren’t the best and as they said in the trailer, Zero was just cool. The best thing these most likely retconned seasons did was make Donut something more than a sex joke. Also I think they’ll still have Church die by powering Metas suit because he was talking like he’s not going to see the outcome like how he talked in the original season 13 ending.

People keep saying they're retconning all the seasons after 13, and maybe they are. However, I have another possible take. In this trailer, Church says they "always end up at the same place." Meaning, that no matter the simulations he runs, the same thing eventually happens. I think that means all the other seasons did happen still, but they made it through because of what Church did here, but now we'll see their greatest challenge with whatever happens at the end each time he runs these.

@@AgntFL It may just be a meta moment addressing how Zero wasn't well received, but there were still fun things about it, but then it comes as a surprise to him later on when it really did end up happening. We'll just have to wait and see.

Are they gonna get Joel back for Caboose? Cuz the guy they got to replace him in the Death Battle video didn't sound like him *at all.* I know Joel has said and done some questionable things, but a series finale is a series finale. You can't just hire some random Michael to play Michael J Caboose on the last season

The last I remember watching from Red vs Blue is Donut sealing away some time god or something. I thought that was alright but then the next thing I remember is Zero (which I never finished).

Camp Camp also comes back And RT makes the VAs Skin match the Skin of the Characters they voice .... I think this Concept is dumb The Voice needs to fit the Character - this is the important thing

You went to RTX in 2019!? Dang it, I went in 2018. It would've been great to meet you in person. As for this, I honestly don't know how to feel about this. It's like seeing an old friend again, but you know they're going to be gone soon. Halo was the first "rated M" game I played (I still have the box it was in), and I first found RvB through a site that had mods, maps, and videos for games. This was around the time season 4 or 5 was being released, so I was about 11 or 12 (I'm 29 now). A year or so later I decided to go to the RvB site they promoted in the videos, it redirected to Rooster Teeth.

@@lisboah While it was kinda lame they undid all that offscreen, the explanation is totally in-line with early RvB. I can totally believe Sarge could just fix his brain damage by dismantling kitchen supplies. Either way, it was a weird writing decision.

Season 14 is still canon or rather the episodes in it that took place in the past are canon. Seasons 15 to 18 are being retconned though.

Everything after season 13 was basically rec coned, every season after was basically a simulation epsilon was running to prepare the reds and blues for the fight that was about to happen after the door was breached. The thing about season 13s ending is that it is actually very open ended. If season 15 wasn’t a thing, we wouldn’t know if the reds and blues survive. So churches end speech is still very much prevalent We don’t know for sure if they’ll survive. Ain’t that a bitch?

Zero wasn't awful but it was just an excuse to recreate a bunch of fight scenes from 2D shonen anime and as a result was really really derivative to anyone who watched shows like Naruto, or Bleach. I also don't think this is undoing his death speech, this is showing us how and what happened to make him realize that was the only option left if he wanted to save everyone

Burnie went silent the moment he left so this is great having him back and involved with RvB. It is his baby after all.
