11:40 I think the reason why Burnie can't write Restoration very well, was he was writing alone. Back when Roosterteeth was an Indie company, he had pretty much all of his friends working with him, writing each character and story as one... ...Restoration is basically written by one man, who no longer has his many friends working with him to write the story... And has had to watch in real time as the company _he_ created, and gotten bought out by Warner Bros, get closed down by both bad choices and the very same company Roosterteeth sold out to. He's trying to write the last season, of a series where he was once happy in... But now, it is gone.

@Victor-0568 ай бұрын
@@thatguythere6161 That, and Warner Bros apparently moved the deadline for Roosterteeth's closure so it occured mid-way through production of Restoration. In that regard, I suspect that it was because they feared Restoration being completed as it was intended would have given Roosterteeth a surge in audience numbers and likely kept its doors open a little longer. There have been cases where studios on the brink of closure managed to eek out at least one film or series that was meant to be their swan song that caused the auidence numbers to come back and save the studio... Heck, if memory serves, Warner Bros itself in the past had at least one moment like that, and it kept them from closing their doors... ...Which maybe why they suddenly shifted the deadline. (The way the Roosterteeth cast explained it, the change to the deadline was unexpected, meaning Warner Bros changed the deadline for the closure.)

Or because there's over a year time skip, they've already done their grieving and have more pressing matters to attend to at the moment. But Wash and Carolina are the perfect people to have remember Doc. They and Church are the only of the Reds and Blues that are shown to have dealt with psychological trauma on-screen.

Someone else here on YT explained years ago that if the show had ended with 13, it'd be fine cause it's the end. But because 15 continued 13's story, it went from "you never know if your sacrifice meant anything" to "we decided not to animate it. G.F.Y." And Doc dying off screen, no real Donut, minimal use of Lopez, like...again Ik budget was a huge issue, but it still blows.

I think RT understood your exact complaint, but couldn’t quite figure out how to get around it. S14 was an anthology because they knew creating anything after that would ruin that moment. And then the next trilogy was time travel, and then this is most likely a simulation. I agree it still doesn’t feel quite right for 15-17 to skip it, but I think by making it time travel you dampen the blow a lot (and then retcon to be a simulation fixes it but I understand too little too late)

What you forget about season 8 is that the status quo continues past that. They stick around in Valhalla for some time, doing their fake red and blue battles; they even continue for a while in S10 when they realise Church's battle isn't their own. They do go after him at the end of the day, but that's to pay back the fact that he helped give them what they want, so they will help him what he wants. The only reason the reds joined the first Church rescue op in S9 to begin with was the threat of Carolina (and Wash being too strong a blue team leader). S11 sees the reds return to fighting, because as long as the reds have sarge it won't change. S12 sees the reds only agree to help Chorus in order to rescue Sarge, not the blues. S13 sees them reluctantly infiltrate the staff of charon because that's the only way to survive this. And if Burnie wanted to honor Shisno (which he does), Grif will eventually want to leave, Sarge will grow tired with a life where he has no one to fight (and wanted to die on Charon...)and Simmons will question his purpose. And that's exactly what happens. Burnie knows his canon, it's just everyone else who forgot.

Tex coming back was really only ruined by not having the classic Tex theme whenever she showed up on screne, and when Tex slams the memory unit down was a really good call back to the season 8 fight xD, and When Tex says shes based off the Reds and Blues memories was a really great moment as she finally overcame her programmed destiny I only wished that the season was given more time with more characters and Joel being back as Caboose, of course with more screen time with Tucker After thinking about it, I would say that maybe just maybe that Burnie kinda left it to interpretation that this maybe another simulation. As im sure if given just more time he would have given this last official season of such an impactful show on the internet a truly bigger classic RoosterTeeth send off that would have brought all the fans together for one last Hurrah without any part not feeling off. There might be a few clues that this is a simulation of the the Real Reds and Blues because somethings are just slightly off, as Cabooses voice, the characterization of the Reds, and the music might be some really cheeky "ah but it could be a simulation" by Burnie

Yeah it really felt like had it been given the time and the length Burnie could have given it the time it needed. Im sure he’d include flashbacks to the escape on chorus, wash getting hurt, doc saving him to allow the viewer to question if it was real or not. Sarge’s death would have more time to soak in, and I think giving tucker/meta more time to cook would have helped that. But again, limited budget, being told what you have time to do or not, alot of it felt like it was put on the chopping block.
@billygranzow13318 ай бұрын
My biggest complaint is that Tucker didn't get a scene at the end after the Meta was destroyed, he just wakes up and they go "Ok you're fine bye."

my feelings are mixed on this season... but the fact it's the end of an era is really beautiful. for a lot of us, this show was just our childhoods. i'm sure i wasn't the only one who finished and started thinking about the good old days of watching the blood gultch chronicles.

Just finished restoration and I am glad to know you always seem to be able to get an overall good idea on what is wrong with a season, it's s strengths etc, things that are on the tip of tongue and can't seem to be able to describe myself. It's a good thing that it has been years since I was invested in watching RvB or else I would be too critical of restoration.

I think the Tex army from season 10 was made by the method shown in this. I mean the director didn't have Alpha or Epsilon so ether there are one hundred other Alphas out there he created to make more Tex. or he used his memory to create them using a memory unit.

Part of me was wondering if they were going to save Sarge with CPR, or mouth to mouth, I dunno, if it can cure a bullet to a head it can cure an energy sword to the chest.

I used to look forward to every season. I'd watch them online, FOR FREE BACK THEN. Then buy the DVDs. I remember when they were exclusive to Gamestop. I lost it at seeing the cameos in Halo. I remember the DVD Easter eggs they used to put in the menus. Some of those were pretty complex to find. My mom even found them funny. She only saw parts of each season but we were going to sit and watch the whole series together. We never got to before she passed last September. This show actually got me into Halo. I had never even known about the game till I saw someone playing season 1 on a tv in a small anime rental store across the street from my college. Both Halo and RVB were a huge part of my life. I miss it. But maybe one day, a younger generation will see these stories and get inspired. We owe it to everyone who isn't here anymore to tell these stories. Memory, is the key.

I remember watching the entire series up to season 13 on Netflix so many years ago, and to see it end now, it feels surreal, it feels like saying goodbye to an old friend. It was a lot of fun while it lasted.

I want to be completely honest, but burnie could have just used that trailer as the ending. I understood the point of restoration, but the trailer had a lot more of a punch knowing we were still technically in season 13. And until restoration came out we were still in that ending wondering if they lived or died. A perfect ending (in my opinion) is that that trailer clip would be the ending proving that this was all just a simulation would be really cool. With all of the flaws it would have, it would be one of the thousands of simulations left by epsilon. Overall I love this show, but the ending could have been better if it was still just the trailer for restoration. I still like to believe that it is, and we still will never know if they lived or died. I still want to believe that we don’t know what will happen to them, that they are still in frozen time. I want to believe that these last few seasons are just running simulations. You can’t have a season 15 after 13., because it ruins the final message of 13. “In the end you just have to have faith.” Please understand this is my opinion.
@Dylan-xx2tk8 ай бұрын
Yet you can view Restoration as the "Let's run one more" that Epsilon was speaking about as the announcement trailer ends. Coupled with the ambiguity if the events of Restoration were actually "real", it leaves the door open for whatever you want. If you like the original seasons, then you can view those as "canon".

Personally, I feel 13 was the best ending for RvB, the characters had grown convincingly, the new plot points had resolved themselves (after the old ones did 3 seasons before), and the hype had levelled off. 17 was alright, but at that point, I just wanted the shittiness to stop. 10 was second best, as it definitely felt like the most natural ending for RvB, at least as a single, contained story. 5 was okay, but it left a lot of questions unanswered and it was clear that there was still some energy left for a few more seasons.

I imagine that Red team and blue team get recruits that were low in the military and needed a place to go. Caboose is captain of blue. Simmons is captain of red. And it continues the shenannigans with new people. Tucker is a good dad, hanging out with his kid now that he is free. Carolina takes Wash to where she met York. Donut is getting married(to a guy?). Lopez becomes a respectable mechanic. Grif is at a pizza joint, sis tries to take a slice, he stops her, then gives her the piece. If an animator, a.i. user and a machinamator wants to make this happen that'd be awesome

"Hey" "Yeah?" "do you ever wonder, Why we are here" - Simmons and Grif Red vs Blue The words that started it all, fitting that they semi know what the answer is in the end, is with all the reds and blues, and the friends they met along the way. I'm gonna miss these soldiers standing around talking and going to crazy adventures. Credits to Burnie by making sure the ending can be anything, seasons finale, making us fans choose the ending we want, I'm pretty pretty sure they the OG creators and rooster teeth showed there version, shame that the company shut down, so many missed chances in the story, but they managed to make their masterpiece a farewell. I'm gonna miss these guys, no more spin offs or psa's, even though part of me is hoping for a possible continuation. Thank you Rooster teeth for happening and giving us Red vs Blue, especially to OGs And thank you Eruptionfang for making this video and giving us fans a review and at the same time a tribute to us fans a legendary show.

I won't lie and be honest, the final season actually had me in tears. This show was a cornerstone to my life growing up. The odd band of misfits teaming up to deal with threats and issues that were way above their grade. It was comforting. The ending was far from perfect. I really with it had the budget, time and effort to be able to be the perfect ending the show needed. But I'm beyond content with how it went out. It hurts, like letting go of something precious or losing a long-time friend, but I'm glad it helped me through tough times and I'm glad it didn't end in an undeserving way.

This feels like the final book of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. That series took 30 years to wind up and in the final book, King gives you, if I recall correctly, 3 stopping points and warns you this would be a really good point to call the book done, but if you want to know more... keep reading, you might not like it though. I feel the same way about that series as I do RVB. I got an ending, it makes the book/show finished and I can be happy with that, but... *slaps the repeat button and goes back to the beginning.*

Honestly, if it had an entire actual season or two to flesh everything out, it would have been such a great watch. It had so many ideas that I think were all VERY good; Wash’s hallucinations, the Tex twist, Sarge dying, Tucker being under the Meta’s control, etc. It just needed more time. Time it wouldn’t get either way. It is great closure, and for what it’s worth, I couldn’t help but chuckle at every callback. I’m glad it at least got to go out on its own terms. It’s a 7/10 for me, but it’s the best 7/10 ever, of all time.

I get the frustration of the way Dylan Andrew’s was portrayed but the original version we knew was a predicted simulation by church(epsilon) which stated that he ran countless simulations basically creating his own multiverse in which he could’ve depicted them differently in every simulation and by the “real” Dylan being different from what epsilon had simulated just adds more character development to epsilon that he’s not perfect and that he can also make mistakes and can’t predict everything because if he could this final arc would’ve been different

man I hate how we all are getting older T_T i'm only 27 but man I grew up with RT and RVB, I was all there for the news and the bad news and the layoffs most of the crew leaving and never returning and them moving on with life and all that, RVB peaked with the Tex fight, and all that season it was so awesome to watch but unfortunately the world just gets older and we have to live and we lived with them every inch of their journeys some of us don't even get to see this seasons ending... (RIP to those people) such an era

Leonard and Allisons ending legit made me sob. loved that arc. also felt like it was when i finally let myself feel sad about RTs ending. despite how bad things were in the end... that company meant a LOT to me. also if it WAS a simulation. i like to believe it ended up playing out in reality.

It was a great season. I hadn't watched much after season 13-15 so it was easy enough to go back to after Chorus and see it in a new way. Having Grif finally leave, Tex and Leonard getting to rest, finding out Doc was just a hallucination. It feels good to have a final sendoff, especially with how RWBY has been handled.

“There's so many good stories where some brave hero has to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors cheer, and everyone lives happily ever after. But the hero never gets to see the ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith. Ain’t that a bitch.” -Epsilon/Church

i'm glad Burnie left that mystery if this is the real world or another simulation ambiguous so fans can choose their own ending: Shisno and Zero or Restoration, or just ignore them and leave their fates on Chorus up to the wind. Either way, if true, it's ultimately smart cause there are some, like me, who liked Shisno: there was a lot of character development in that trilogy, especially for Sister, Doc, and Donut. Zero.... eh, take it or leave it
