if you go 1st, rocket arrow express isn't that bad, you can easily play for rank 10 turn 1 and summon something like gustav max for 2000 burn damage, nobody wants to keep rocket arrow express on the field

My favorite maintenance cost in Yugioh has to be “Messenger of peace”. This old continues spell restricts monsters with more than 1500atk from attacking. But some guy at Konami has had to have thought that it was too broken, so they gave it a maintenance cost. Which is to pay 100lp every standby phase. They thought that this would be such a hard cost that people would reconsider even wanting to risk running this card.

I remember messenger of peace and tag force. It's brutal cuz your starting deck doesn't have any removal and it's all high attack monsters. And then I made a low attack directly, messenger of peace deck. It worked but I got rid of it after one duel

Destructive Draw seems like a top contender for that list, since its +1 draw effect is not limited to just the owner, you can't choose not to pay its cost, and it'll cost you 3000 LP to remove.

While it's not as easy to give to your opponent, Ido The Supreme Magical Force or Last Warrior will prevent opponent from summoning any monsters so all you'll need to do then is stop him from attacking and they'll need dark hole or some rarely used archetype specific card to be able to play

Speaking of giving Acid Golem to the opponent, that’s actually how it was used in the anime. Kite summoned it and Shark used a trap to steal the monster (which is what Kite wanted him to do), but Kite used a trap to remove all of Golem’s overlay units, which ultimately caused Shark to lose as he had no ways out of the lock.

And Golden Homunculus. It is a card from the Golden Castle archetype so it can be freely summoned by Castle's effect and gains attack and defense for each card banished. I run a deck with golden castle, pot of extravagance, eater, gren maju, and homunculus. No need really for other cards as they are all banish fodder. Then play Necroface at 3 to get banished cards back in the deck and not deck out

Level Eater would be no.1 since it was banned before even links came out since Konami saw huge potential in it for link plays. Also his effect isn't once per turn. I also use him (in casual duels) to reduce my monster's levels from 10 to 9 ,since I have no level 9 monsters but I have a Galaxy Eyes XYZ

@@gracefulcharity8412 In Duel Links we had a skill call "Life Cost 0". That, when your LP are 1000 or lower, for the rest of the turn, you do not need pay LP for card effects. And the thing is that Cyberstein already exist in DL and it was an unlimited card. So you low your LP to 1000 o lower, summon Cyberstein, with Cyberstein summon Gatling Dragon 3 TIMES to nuke the entire board of your opponent and then attack directly with Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. It was so powerful, that Konami nerfed the skill to only use the skill one time to only one card effect, in orden to kill this degenerate strategy.

14:08 Indeed, except that Armor Exe has an even worse form of summon sickness than Toon monsters - a big frustration I remember having with a Yu-Gi-Oh puzzle was that Toon monsters can attack the same turn they are Set if they are flipped face-up or flip summoned; for Armor Exe though it would have to be *specifically* flipped face-up and not flip summoned. 14:20 Also this ruling (/errata of Skill Drain) is pure B.S.; that a monster's maintenance *effect* is not a monster effect, or that they can be activated whilst negated with the effect not being negated... it's some real some bass ackwards logic as far as I'm concerned. 16:52 Huh, now that I think about it - Rocket Arrow Express makes a pretty neat first move in a duel, immediately summon a 5000 ATK monster then use it for some sort of tribute before your next Draw Phase... the thought of that really interests me.

There's a lot of things Skill Drain doesn't negate: * You can only control 1 CARDNAME * If this card is used as Synchro Material, the other Synchro materials are... * Maintenance costs (as you mentioned) * Anything before the colon or semicolon in an activated effect * Effects that make the monster using them leave the field as a cost * Being a Tuner * Lingering effects in general

In my experience the field spell was awful in Amorphages. That said. Amorphages are basically a side deck in the main deck so pride is the anti-burn tool of the jack of all trades.

Banished Face down means that there is essentially no way to interact with them, even with cards that can normally affect banished cards. So the 10 cards are random and you have absolutely no way to use them in any fashion except in Maju and Eater of Millions Decks, and this card is still considered usable in most decks. That's how powerful draw 2 is.

I mean it makes sense if your deck isn't based on some combo you can accidentally mill. Any instant effect you draw you can instantly play, so card advantage is everything. But if you could choose which cards to banish, then it'd be a huge upside. More draw consistency means you get to the cards that win you the game. As a Hearthstone player, almost literally any HS deck would pay a premium to choose ten cards to erase from their deck, not that the UI in that game would allow it.

It seems very strange that they would specify that destructive draw sets your life points to zero instead of destroying itself. As if you are under 700 life points you would die anyway if it destroyed itself because it is being removed from the field right? Seems to make very little difference to actual gameplay unless you have something that reverses or prevents effect damage

I play a very good spell counter deck in GX Duel Academy and I don't even use Armor Exe there; less because of the maintenance and more because it takes an entire turn to attack something when the reason I'd use it is to instantly remove something like Jinzo. If its effect was to use 2 spell counters at the beginning of a battle phase and actually get to attack, it would have been so much better, especially since Witch can get it from the deck

Destructive draw could work with infernity, thanks to their Phantom Hand trap card, or aromage. I totally want to make a Golem deck now. (Acid Golem + Lava Golem)

Hey. Going first with rocket arrow express in your hand is pretty decent as not many decks have a monster that could attack over it. Not good but will allow to survive a turn if you were to brick.

Acid Golem and Armor Exe make good fusion material for Evil Hero Dark Gaia. Granted, with Acid Golem, you need to either negate its effect somehow, or get it in the graveyard and use Dark Calling, but they can both provide a pretty strong dark fusion monster.

I kinda wouldn't mind playing around with destructive draw in Duel Links D/Ds. Thanks to the wording of the 3k burn, D'arc would counteract it, and that deck does a lot of lifepoint management.

Rocket Arrow Express, how does that stop any effects for the turn? It stop you from setting cards, but you could activate something like a pot of desires after the summon. Nothing stops you from playing monsters and using their effects, from the hand or grave. You are locked out of setting quick play spells and traps, so any searcher that sets cards can't do that (rusty bardiche), but should still be able to build some board around it (granted you still miss your battle phase, and need 5 cards in hand to discard to keep mister rocket man next turn, but)

In Duel Links, although bricky and not at all any good, you can put Spiritual Energy Settle Machine in a Exodia Incarnate deck since Incarnate's effect to add an Exodia piece from the GY to your hand will resolve first before you pay the cost of Spiritual Energy Settle Machine.

I think you can combo rock exe with 2 power of the guardians, each time you attack you place a spell counter on each POG and increase the monster's attack by 500, you can simply remove one, and keep increaing you monster attack with the other.

Acid golem use to playable at the time of its release. Lots of decks would run it to finish their opponent off esp since there wasnt many xyz at the time so there was alot of extra deck room

In rocket arrow express’s defence, it’s supposed to be use as xyz material for monsters like gustav max, not for battle. The idea of it is doing what Anna did if you get it in your starting hand. Summon it, refuse the maintenance cost and destroy it and then bring it back using that schedule spell card when you have another level 10.

The entire Archfiend archetype is full of bad maintenance costs because they are all mandatory lp payments. That’s why Pandemonium helps so much. Also I think Volcanic Queen is a good one, even though you intentionally give it to your opponent

I ofen used Armour Exe in an "Evil Hero Dark Gaia" deck and only used it fro fusion and to discard costs. (but then again I only used it becuase I didn't have any of the Magnet Warrior monsters so)

I run spell counters on Duel Links and Armour Exe was always that one card that I always knew I shouldn't use. Mostly, it's because I don't like having high ATK monsters on my main deck, I'm afraid of not being able to summon it XD

I use the number 30 on my Phantom Knights deck as a Cide Deck option along with crature swap. I've lost count of how many times I've won with this combo, it's a card that I really like, both by art and combo, but I agree that it is on the list, after all, its cost is pretty bad, but I still use it

Does the extra draw from Destructive Draw count as drawing outside of the normal draw? Also, if your opponent activated Yata-Garasu's effect while you had no cards, would you still get to draw one from the effect of Destructive Draw?

You can just cheat out whatever spirit monsters you want with dimensionhole or future visions. Most spirit monsters can’t be special summoned, but both cards I mentioned DONT say to special summon. They just say to return the monster or banish it until the next standby phase. I should see about D Hero Doom Lord or the black dragon ninja, but those might say to special summon the selected monsters. If the do, though, that means you can stop the special summon with something like vanity’s fiend.

Aside from Rocket Arrow Express and Armor Exe's Standby Phase costs, there is a way around most other Standby Phase costs. There's an old card called Solomon's Lawbook. All it does is make you skip your next Standby Phase. No Standby Phase, no maintenance cost.

Actually rocket arrow express has a superuse back in the day as it allowed it to be used as a sacrifice for rituals or fusion . And if you had moster reborn and your opponent cleared your field in an earlier turn ,you can summon this card and use moster reborn to summon another mosnter and destroy your opponent by 5000 attack monster and another mosnter to do bonus damge. Especially in current time when super useful link and xz monsters are present that need lvl10 monstr for its summon you can use thisbanndanother card using mosnter reborn to summon a badass monster .
