"Counter Counter" had the misprint in some copies of 1st Edition Tactical Evolution (where it debuted), while other were correct. And it was always a Counter Trap in the OCG.

I'm pretty sure it also came with the understanding that it was able to be activated, on account of the missing counter trap symbol being a misprint, much like how some printings of Elemental Hero Wildedge list Elemental Hero Edgeman as a material, which was a misprint in the English version, where Edgeman was Bladedge's original name translated. I'm pretty sure most judges ruled that the misprinted Wildedge was still playable by fusing Wildeheart and Bladedge, because it's a misprint.

Simple anime logic, keep in mind 2 things. 1)it's clearly implied that topdecking is an actual skill in the anime. People are seen practicing it. 2)rare cards are RARE, in the sense that some have 5 printed copies and that's it. If you want to put a cyber dragon in your deck you need to find a master of the cyber style and get his approval. Super situational cards make much more sense in thag context, becauss Jaden was lucky as hell to get that one copy of solemn judgement, and he can use magic topdecking skill to only draw the appropriate support spells when he has the hero that can use them. Obviously such deckbuilding style don't work irl. Imagine if Ash Blossom had 20 copies total and was tournament aviable.

Top 10 extra deck monsters worse or just less useful than their specific/named materials. The extra deck monsters don't have to be bad, just "worse" or less used than their specific named materials. For example: 1) Geo Genex, Hydro Genex, Windmill Genex, & Thermal Genex - Genex Controller 2) Doomkaiser Dragon, Revived King Ha Des, & Archfiend Zombie-Skull - Plaguespreader Zombie 3) Dark Flare Knight - Dark Magician & Flame Swordsman 4) Dragon Master Knight - BLS & Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon 5) Elemental HERO Grand Neos - EH Neos & Neo-spacian Grand Mole 6) Elemental HERO Aqua Neos - EH Neos & Neo-spacian Aqua Dolphin 7) Elemental HERO Inferno - EH Heat & EH Lady Heat 8) Sanwitch - Sangan & Witch of the Black Forest 9) Steam Gyroid - Steamroid & Gyroid 10) Armityle - Uria, Hamon, & Raviel These are just my suggestions to give an example of what I was thinking of. Feather Wind is bad but if you really want to play it you can now fit it in a modern HERO deck and get decent-ish boards with it because it and Avian are searchable from the deck, since special summoning Spirit of Neos = search any s/t card that mentions an Elemental HERO's name (Feather Wind) on summon & use its effect to bounce itself to the deck to summon a normal HERO monster (Avian) from the deck. Faris + any HERO is a two cards combo that can end on DPE + Avian & Feather Wind by poping Wake Up Your Elemental HERO with DPE to ss Spirit of Neos from the deck. Faris + Malicious/Shadow Mist ends on DPE + Avian & Feather Wind + Dark Angel too. If you play the Neos stuff like Cross Keeper, EN Shuffle, EN Engage Neo Space (for Neo-Spacian decks) those are also ways to ss Spirit of Neos -> get Feather Wind and Avian. Not sure it's really worth it to run more garnets for 1 s/t negate, and we're getting Protection of the Elements some time this year anyway, but it's a fun combo😁

I find it so strange how yugioh chooses certain circumstances to be pedantic. Counter counter was obviously meant to be able to be played in response to a counter trap card, but it didn't have specific text allowing it to, so it was a dead card (until errata). Do a barrel roll obviously intends for you to need to tribute some tokens, but the text only says to tribute all of your tokens: the card never says you have to actually tribute anything. If I have zero tokens, I can tribute nothing and, theoretically, i have tributed all of my tokens.

We need to talk about "Counter Counter". Fist of all, when it come out it was misprinted and was a Counter Trap. Upper Deck did make that clear in a post on their site. Also there are a few decks where is very good, say decks where you are relying on multi trigger monster effects that that negate trap cards, e.g. Sorcerer of Dark Magic, Herald of Perfection, et al, as those don't work on Counter Trap, so one should always back thoses up with a "Counter Counter".

I think Do a Barrel Roll really should be much lower on this list simply because its an omni negate. Sure its awkward and wasteful, but that's definitely more useful than targeting, destruction negation for only spell traps
