All Summoned Skull needs is a better Rank 6 engine/payoff and it might start seeing as much use as Driver does. The Synchro being the same level as it does it no favors, though for the ritual that actually works pretty well, or would if the ritual was better.

I think you're onto something. I think the Ritual is pretty decent for what it is: it has pretty good protection, as not many decks will use Ritual monsters, so many decks will struggle removing it through battle and monster effect. Remember, the archetype is on theme for all of them being level 6, 2500 atk monsters, which special summons Summoned Skull from the hand, deck, or graveyard. My suggestion is to create a tuner that can special summon itself, and when summoned, can search a Ritual or Fusion spell--that way, not only do you have the requirements for the Synchro, but also the Fusion and Ritual aspects, too.

It's annoying when you know Konami could make Summoned Skull good if they actually wanted to. Maybe Summoned Skull will get something noteworthy if/when it gets a Pendulum and Link retrain.

Honestly if they give summoned skull a Pendulum and Link retrain then that would probably ruin summoned skull cards as a whole. Like why can't they just give it some support/make it viable for competition without making very supporting card support only pendulum cards (AKA. a two set combo flood-gate that instantly summon level 8+ monsters ignoring tributes) and Link cards (AKA. poor-mans synchro summon monsters)? It honestly seems like the only way to make decks and archetypes viable in Yu-Gi-Oh in 2023 is to make them like every other deck and copy the same stupid idea over and over again.
