I like the fact that now you guys are making videos not only of the Pacific coast but Central Valley as well.... there is a lot more to see in other regions so FYI 😃
@TheDufresnes2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, we have made a few videos away from the coast, but with our rental business it makes it more difficult to get to the other areas because we have to plan around our guests who stay with us. We have so much more to explore and share of Costa Rica and have areas planned to visit like the Carribean side, monteverde, north of San Jose in the mountains and more. There is also a cost to exploring so we save up our patreon and KZbin AdSense to fund the trips as well as work with hotels and restaurants to give them advertising in exchange for stays and meals. We can't wait to see waaay more of Costa Rica! Pura Vida

My husband and I will soon be staying in an AirB&B at that same apartment building while in SJ. It's so cool to actually see the area before we come. We've never been to CR! We're excited!! Thanks for the video.

If you're staying during the weekdays make sure to bring earplugs, the train starts honking at 430 in the morning. Are you going to make your way to Samara and come stay with us at Sea Casa and see the beach?

@@TheDufresnes aren't you sweet!!! Actually, we will celebrate our 50 anniversary on a 10 day bus tour of Tortuguera, Monteverdi and Arenal. It starts in SJ so we're taking days at the B&B also. I heard you say the train is loud! LOL We're survivors, and hopefully maybe a 12th floor B&B won't be too bad??? HAHA! I'm more concerned about mosquitos.
@TheDufresnes2 жыл бұрын
Mosquitoes aren't any different then North America it's the no see ums that attack. We were on the 22nd floor and it was very loud still! Sounds like a fun bus trip!

@@johnb2467 We did stay at URBN Escalante four nights and enjoyed it, although the train can disturb your early morning sleep. It has a rooftop pool and restaurant and is within walking distance to town. Very upscale place. But, everyone has individual likes and dislikes so it may not be for you.

Two others that you passed that I would recommend would be El Ninot CR and Isolina. It is much easier to find more places at night when all the lights are on.

One of the things I love most about most of CR is the lack of trains lol. Guessing those are confined to the city like public transit? Funny, a pizza place called Mamba, in Montezuma we were at a pizza place and met a dog there named Mumba! Classic! lol. Anyway, another great video, thank you!

There is a project by the Municipality of San Jose to turn called 33 into a one lane road instead of two lanes, so cars will drive at 30 km/h and with the extra space they will allow restaurants to set up tables on the sidewalks. But like everything in this country it's moving like a snail.

Thank you for the video. I thought it was a well done. As you appreciate, all good trips start with finding the right neighbourhood to stay. You really gave me a good idea of Barrio Escalante. I like it, and it is walking distance to the historical center, and Urbn Escalante has lots of nice Airbnbs. The only concern I have is the noise from trains that you mention. We are looking at staying for four weeks in March/April. Are the trains that bad? Is the noise from the horns or trains themselves? Is the concern just during the weekday mornings or all day? When do they shutdown in the evening? If you wouldn’t recommend Barrio Escalante to stay, is there another neighbourhood you would recommend? I know about Santa Ana and Escazu, but they are faraway from the historical center.
@TheDufresnes Жыл бұрын
Yes unfortunately the train horns go all day during the week from about 430 am into the evening. This is the best neighbourhood to stay for the cultural area just bring ear plugs.
