Love watching your epic videos so much time and effort goes into it well done ! It’s called detecting for a reason like fishing you can’t win them all …..😊 the noise is a fallow Buck it’s rutting season autumn they grunt(calling) for a Doe ! If you go into the woods you will find a mud pit he stands (rutting stand) in pissing on himself to attract the doe’s and decorating his antlers with bracken , you will also hear him clashing antlers with other Bucks fighting off the competition it’s eerie and haunting you are at the mercy of nature try to get close but be mindful they shouldn’t harm you ! It’s a magical place to be listening to wild things 🙏 🦌

Hi Pete, thanks very much for your awesome comments and kind words. Would be cool if it was a buck deer, but I don't think I've ever seen a deer in the wild anywhere near this place. But it's either that or some kind of pig / boar. Next time I visit this place, I think I will venture into the woods to have a closer look. Thanks again for your kind words and for supporting my channel and what I do. Catch you on the next episode. Gareth

Nice one Gareth, good previous hunt there, definitely not the time of the year for dry soil, makes it a pleasure to dig, and the mist just adds to the whole experience. Just had my first hammered off my permission, Lizzy silver sixpence 1567, buzzing. Only took 3 years, knew there had to be a hammered lying in waiting, tick. All the best bud and HH.

Hi Paddy, thanks for the comments mate. In recent years something that I've been drawn to on KZbin is cinematic video, and it's something I've been working on and trying to bring across to my channel. It paid off as at one point I was one of only a hand full of metal detecting channels doing this, but as with most things in life a lot of other channels got onboard and now my channel is not so unique anymore. But I try to work harder than anyone else, and adding the drone was the single best thing I ever done for my channel. You n your old man should get one, they are super fun, especially when you crash them into tree's haha

Hi Andy, thanks very much for visiting my channel and dedicating time out your day to watch this video. You think it's a stag? This is an area I live and detect and never seen dear in the wild. Perhaps it could be owned by someone and not wild? I have a hard drive packed with detecting days I use as backup. I was originally going to upload a video about Noble MDT spades this week, but Carl was on holiday and kindly asked me to upload it after he was back. So I had to change my plans and put together this video in a very short time frame. Hi my friend. If noone have told you yet; what you find on 4:44 is actually a Norwegian 1 skilling Christian 7th 1771. This coin has an amazing story and its written a book about it. It was made during the "crazy King Christian". This coin was made from 1771 to 1786 but it all has the year 1771 on it. -The reason beeing that the King didnt want the people to believe he was cheap since all the previous kings had made these in silver and he use copper. By using 1771 he wanted the people to think he only made it this exact year. The 1771 skilling has a mintage of whopping 55 million! -and then some fake ones! Some has spelling mistakes and are worth more. there was many different people striking this coin, many didnt like the king and some were drunk at work. During this time the farmers was superstitious and since 7 was a lucky number they often threw this out in the fields as a sacriface to have a good season/crop. This coin is therefor also known as a "toss-coin" and is one of the reasons we detectorists often find this coin on Norwegian and Danish fields, and I also see them beeing find from time to time in foreign fields as well. I got about 40-50 of this one myself. Great big Norwegian coin with a great history attached to it. Google it if you wanna learn more, there is lots of interesting facts on it :)

Hi mate, thank you for your kind words, I do enjoy spending some time on my production and trying to create an atmosphere that tries to take my viewers with me so to speak. I like to create videos that I would watch, I cut out all the unnecessary stuff, all the chat, all the boring stuff and try to make my videos as engaging, interesting and visually pleasing as I can. This video was awesome to make I must admit. Yes I have heard late August and September we are going to get summer back, but to be honest I'm looking forward to those colder days, those darker days and those wetter days. Thanks again for your kind words and for supporting my channel. You won't get replies like this off many other channels :)

@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire thanks for such a detailed reply, you're right that most won't do that and a lot don't bother at all so it's much appreciated mate. I was kind of joking about the Indian summer as everyone says it, almost as a coping strategy or to convince themselves but I would also prefer a more autumnal affair, it's a truly magical time with wonderful odours of decomposing leaves and a reason to put on a big pot of stew after being outdoors all day and you captured that perfectly!

Hi mate, gosh you must be bored, watching the golden oldies, bet I was slimmer, had more hair and less wrinkles back then?! AT Pro, wow class machine for its time, tried to use this a couple times recently and it feels like I'm trying to metal detect with an old hoover - so heavy! Times have changed and metal detectors got a lot better. Garrett need to step up their game or they will be gone

It's in March 2024 and I said yes although I'm pooing my pants already haha

Hi there, thanks very much for visiting my channel and for your very kind words. The Software I use is called Filmora, it costs me about £50 for a years annual subscription. It's not the best Software in the world and it can be frustrating when it freezes. You need a very powerful PC or laptop to run it (I use a laptop). I do everything myself, filming and editing. I use a drone to capture some of the shots from above, it's a DJi Mini 3 Pro, awesome bit of kit. Really took my channel to a new level when I bought it last August. Thanks for watching and thanks again for your kind words, I hope to see you again on my channel very soon. Gareth

hi Gareth I was going to ask you because I find lots of old Georgian and Victorian coins but don't know how long I should keep them in lemon juice if you could get back it would be much appreciated thanks. keep up the great videos they always me make feel happier when I'm feeling down I've always had an attraction to metal detecting its just so fascinating.

Hi mate, thanks so much for watching this video and leaving me a comment. The only coins I soak in lemon juice are the modern silver milled coins. I would never soak a copper coin in lemon as it will destroy it and turn it pink. Thank you for your kind words, it pleases me to know the stuff I upload helps you out when you aren't feeling on top of the world. You are not alone, we all feel like that and use KZbin for 'pick me ups'. Hope you are OK and thanks again for tuning in. Gareth

Hi mate, yes a last minute change of plan meant I had to grab something from the backup archive, and this one felt like the right one to work on. Yes absolutely buzzing for the new season to start!! Watched the Arsenal game last week, I could not see us winning that game from 1 - 0 down deep into injury time. The joys of football though, that's why we all love it so much!! Never heard of Hojlund, lot of money for an unknown, but I guess we'll find out about him over the coming weeks and months. Thanks as always for tuning in
