10:57 The Unseen World! It still feels unreal to be included in a video like this (and thank you for the kind words!). This is the sort of video I would watch when looking for a new game to get into. And I can't believe mine has been your favorite of the year so far! 🤯 And I've definitely got notes on things to expand and explore in the future! Just been hard at work on my next game, Winds of the North (a solo Viking game 4 years in the making). And these videos are really well done overall. I love the methodical overview of each game, breaking down complexity, the system mechanics, and showing what's inside. A great way to round up several genre games and showcase them (I still need to watch the dungeon crawl one!).

Fantastic video! So many games to try and so little time. 😅 I describe Four Against the Great Old Ones exactly like you: Eldritch Horror without the board and the five hundred cards. Honestly, one day I'll try to use those cards in a Four Against game, just to see how it goes. Legacy of Cthulhu is another game that I love (I'm from Brazil). Such a simple and fun game. My girlfriend and I usually play it together and we use her hometown as the map. So much fun finding our friends either dead or turned into madmen! Once again, great video! Love your channel!

Thanks Daniel. Such a great video and introduction to this genre. Business travel alone in hotels gives me time to fill, and this could be an option. I'm most interested by the Japanese one and the Legacy of Cthulhu. I'm a board gamer and I like my solo games, but they are mostly too large to travel with. I brought the new Arkham Files "The Darkness Over Arkham" book (disappointing so far) and a couple of Decktective and Deckscape games with me on this trip. I thought solo rpg would not be for me, but the games in your selection don't seem such a big next step. Hmmm, will have a think... Thanks again.

This is like a super-cut of so many other excellent videos you've done - not only on some of these titles, but I'm pretty sure Little Town was something you printed using your 'zine tutorial. I guess being a long time fan really pays for itself, and I'm not just saying that because for once I don't need to buy new stuff. :) Regardless, it is a mix of things I knew about plus quite a few things I'd never heard of. Solo horror is kinda hard to do (imho) - especially anything Eldritch horror related - but this is a well thought-out variety!

Theres a group play Horror game called "Dread" that used a Jenga tower to great effect. You pull instead of roll, easy "rolls" being 1 pull, harder tasks being ~3 pulls. When the tower falls, the character dies: immediately if appropriate, or they're doomed to die at any point if it doesn't make sense in that specific situation.

I love the review. However, the use of the term Analog Horror here is a little bit misleading; I know what you're trying to say by analog - being tactile paper and pencil TTRPGs, but it is now a subgenre of horror/an offshoot of the found footage film genre.

Yep! Done on purpose. Same for my Analog Dungeon Crawl guide. Will also at some point have an Analog Science Fiction guide. Gotta use those hot buzzwords to get eyes on the videos if I want to pay my bills and keep doing this. Analog is a buzzword that people are searching for, when searching for things that aren't digital / screen based. These are analog games, so it totally works.
