I put this as an answer to someone else, but thought I would put it here. It is not published yet, but Treacheries of Troublesome Towns (or TTT) is a supplement that the FB group has been teased about for at least one year. It's a town book, and has everything you would probably want from a book that deals with towns. Apparently the book is so huge, it been split into parts 1 and 2. Alas, Andrea can only publish 1-2 books per month, so it sits at layout for now. The FB group had hoped to see it out this summer, but who knows? For now, enjoy the Mists of Warunor and The Uncharted Settlement. I think those were Andrea's way of giving us fans cities without TTT, immediately.

Thanks a lot! I already had a healthy stack of Four Against Darkness books, but these videos got me reminiscing again and looking around at what I didn't have...and between Amazon and Lulu I ordered another 21 books! It will be fun trying some of the other genre variants like Alone Against Fear, Four Against Mars, and Four Against the Great Old Ones. Disappointing that you've got to join Facebook to get that interesting 'zine bundle you showcased. I'm avoiding social media wherever I can. Just a personal preference. Keep up the great vids!

Nice review as always. This is the fun of 4AD, the building of an adventure that you can tailor to your liking. Keep up the great work D.

Enjoying your 4AD vids! I have a few of the books and have enjoyed the game. I would love to see some worldbuilding lore based on your excitement with Warunor.

Overland Adventures let's you build your own fortress and there is an unofficial The City expansion that give you a few locations to visit in a city. Kingly Knights and Knifing Knaves is a town adventure. And TTT was indeed teased a year ago and referenced to in KK&KK, but it has yet to come out.

Just a little update in case you are still interested, Treacheries of Troublesome Towns is 100% done, it has 400 pages and its currently in the prosses of editing, since it has 400 pages and its probably only being done by one man, it will probably take a little bit, BUT it is done, soon we will have it.

I've been play testing that module for a good while I have the whole thing and it's great I always implemented in every single game that I play, it's two books packed with tables and stuff to do in a town. We've been waiting for them to release this book a while back I would love to have an original copy.

Around 6:00, it sounds like you're describing a gamebook. Sounds like a great idea.

Daniel. There is a book at the Ganesha website called Ravagers of Ruins that says it introduces new monsters in a ruined city. That the game book will assist you in creating a ruined city map. My thinking is you have a ruined city, kill off the baddies then as heroes rebuild the city. The blurb doesn't detail how the city is created. Maybe worth a look. By the way. Have enjoyed your videos. Your enthusiasm to dungeon games keeps me totally engaged!

I've been working on an RPG, however I always get stuck wondering how to handle health, or even other stats like stamina. My RPG is a mix with some board game elements. I don't want the player to have to rewrite their current health or stamina values over and over. I do want the player to have a character sheet.
@MelvLee3 жыл бұрын
Have you played any RPG from the Mutant Year Zero engine? Health = Stats in those game so there is a lot less rewriting.
@TheDungeonDive3 жыл бұрын
Love those games. Great system.

@@MelvLee I've seen some videos about Mutant Year Zero, and it's on my radar to study and learn from. My game has 4 stats, health, hunger, stamina, and mentality.

@@nightbirdgames Coriolis, Symbaroum, Forbidden Lands and Tales from the Loop use similar systems, or rather they share the same core system, with some variation. Free League/Fria Ligan is the company that publishes these games.

Hey Daniel! I think you will enjoy NoteQuest! Take a look at DriveThru, it's a solo "Dungeon Crawl" similar to 4AD. I just uploaded the "Expanded World" expansion which has rules for many things besides the Dungeon Crawl.

What an excellent idea to have a town as a book. Probably a city would be even better (like Baldurs gate’s cities) so there are multiple terrains ( sewers / market place / temple / dock / farms / semetry etc. ) with different quests generating tables. Someone definitely needs to make one!

There is a 4AD supplement that is at layout. We've been teased about it for a year. Hopefully it comes out soon.
