Oh cool. I've made film cameras from legos before but never that pure. Always had to go full pinhole or hack in a cut down Holga shutter. Crazy that they used a lego piece for the lens too.

Just went to vote in favor of this and it had already hit the 10k mark. And will be included in Lego's September 2024 review. Which Lego says takes "several months". Really hoping this gets the green light and we can but this. Hopefully in time for a nice Xmas present for myself next year. :)

This is amazing--good to see it crossed the line. LEGO often fiddle with the plans from the Ideas page that get turned into production sets and they aren't afraid to get fancy; I wouldn't be surprised if they purpose built a lens for it. If they stick with the magnifying glass it would make sense--given the lens circle--to make a half frame version.

That’s so freaking cool! I wish the camera would have a bit better lens. Maybe this could be something that is for real possible in Cooperation with Lego. Loved it!

i doubt lego would approve this to be made through the lego ideas page for a few reasons ( would still love if they did don't get me wrong) but i think zung92 should release some instructions, possibly charge for them, after the lego deadline is reached because i would certainly build it

@@thelemon5069 they probably would lose more money buying sensors from sony themselves to make digital camera, rather than just having the consumer buy film on their own. Plus the other electronics necessary for a digital camera like storage and the processor etc

No, actually it would be cool if people realise they don't have to buy the Lego "product" because with Lego yoh are supposed to build anything. Which is not their policy anymore. It would be really cool if people buy the instructions from the creator and get the pieces from bricklink and show Lego the finger. Because Lego would never come up with something like this. Cheers
