As an encouragement to other homeschooling moms: I started as exec director of a nonprofit in July. It’s a full time job. We serve kids and youth in foster care. I am still homeschooling all 5 kids (2nd-11th grade) They have done such a great job! We do school in the morning and go into my office in the afternoon. They get up a little earlier than they used to. They go to a co-op one day a week and I get a ton of desk work done that day. My 16 year old has stepped up much more to watch the littles when I have a meeting that I can’t take kids to. All this to say; you DO have time to do ministry if that’s what God is calling you to. My kids have learned so much from helping at the office and they feel like a part of the ministry. It is doable.

Yes!!! My husband and I have a business, and I'm the expert/CEO so I really have to be present for meetings, random phone calls, emails, plus analysis and offering opinions. I also have 2 big kids and two babies (2 and 9 months) and it's a constant juggle. But we're making it work, my kids are so well equipped and we get the work done all times of the day, depending on what's on the schedule for work. I know a woman who worked full time as a nurse, and homeschooled her 4 sons in the afternoon/evening. They all ended up successful. Seek first the kingdom of God, and he'll provide what we need to fulfill his will.

I think the key phrase in your comment is "if that's what God is calling you to". We face SO much cultural pressure to be doing something on top of caring for our families that I get leery of other believers placing pressure too (you weren't - but could be read wrongly this way). If God has called you to something more - go boldly! But if God has 'only' called you to homeschooling and home - focus boldly!

@@emiliehammerquist6372 I wholeheartedly agree. I was an “only” homeschooler for 6 years because that was the stage my family was in. I never could have managed working and homeschooling when my littles were younger. They needed me every moment of the day. Now they can come with me to work and have their independent work to do. (Also not something that works out for everyone) I realize how blessed I am that this job fell in my lap. 🙌🏼🙌🏼

@emiliehammerquist6372 Agreed! It's the outside pressure that if you're "just a housewife" (yes, I'm quoting a Doris Day movie) you aren't enough. Do more, Superwoman! However, if that's truly what He wants you to do, by all means go for it!

So exciting to hear you share that God has directed you after all the months of waiting and praying. I am there. Seems like so many things lately have been frustrating me….like homeschooling my teens. I want to have an incredible homeschool journey…my heart is all in…but it’s like dragging them up a hill and it’s discouraging. Holidays, dreams, homeschooling, marriage…all seem to be extra discouraging lately. All that to say…thank you for sharing your heart. As I wait, and pray, and wonder…i am encouraged to not give up. He is faithful. ❤

This is so encouraging and so thankful to hear how you have sought the Lord and His plans in this time. And its so comforting knowing He will redirect us! We just have to stay on alignment with Him. Im so encouraged! Years ago you encouraged me when i wanted to give up on homeschooling. We started SCM history - mixed with diving into unit studies alongside. Our time in the Word, History, snd missionary books have been the most beautiful part of our journey. Thank you for encouraging yet again. I am also praying against those voices of negativity and naysaying - thats definitely the enemy striking out because you are following His will. I came across an older video of yours (from some months ago) for the first time, and I absolutely loved it and watched a few more…then I got to your newest (this one) and it literally took me off guard with the opening music and the hair flip, and all the music in between. If we could get language arts thru nature studies, we’d be set. I know you probably can, I just don’t know how to implement that on my own. They are weak in spelling and vocabulary, but I can’t bring myself to do All About Spelling. My kids need short lessons. We enjoy our freedom to explore and adventure outside. I think we have found our math curriculum. It’s just everything else. Help! 😩

Yes I remember that well. When the oldest begins to move out of group activities and we see continual shifts in our homeschool family lives until they’re all grown up. One leaves home, then it gets so busy at home as everyone is in loads of extracurriculars and jobs and independent activities - then that one leaves home-then the next one leaves home and we wonder how we can make it all stop so we can turn back to the early homeschool days. So many shifts from the “homeschool family life most people discuss online to graduated homeschool mom”.

AGF was great for a CM education and individual work. I loved having all the reading plans done for me! However, AGF doesn’t really have any family/group work in the core subjects, unless you have kids in the same form and you do readings together. My kids are spread through all 4 forms so nothing was really together for the subjects we were using it for. We did unit studies when my older kids were younger and I missed studying more together so we are switching to unit studies for my younger 3 for the rest of the year. My high schooler was already kind of doing his own thing and I’m letting him stick to that! ☺️

I’m so sorry you feel that way. Please know that nothing we have ever done has ever been with the heart or intention to attack anyone. Rather, everything is filtered through the lens of loving everyone so much that we want them to know the truth so they can be saved. It would be unloving to know the only way to salvation and keep it hidden away. ”First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.“ ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬, ‭3‬-‭4‬ ”Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ Blessings to you!

As a long time follower of your channel and a life long, devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of a Latter-day Saints (aka Mormon), I confess I’m disappointed and somewhat disgusted by the direction you’ve chosen for your new KZbin channel. Of course, I can understand and relate to the desire to share your faith with others, but I can’t relate to understand calling out other faiths you disagree with with such divisive video titles. I live in the Bible Belt, where Mormons (and sometimes Catholics too) are often barred from joining homeschool co ops and have dealt with people excluding us from the homeschool community because we believe and worship differently. Freedom of religion is paramount, and boundaries are appropriate for religious life, but the extent of divisiveness I’ve personally experienced here has been detrimental to my family. I deeply love the Savior and respect that others view Christianity than me, but I do wish we could join a co op. I started my own co op, of course, but it would be nice to be included rather than rejected, ridiculed, and “corrected” just because my religion isn’t palatable to some people.
@momofmany6619
@momofmany6619 6 ай бұрын
Hi! I am neither Catholic nor Mormon, so I am not able to join their co-ops where I live (also in the Midwest). There are some great people in both the Catholic and the Mormon groups, yet I understand that since we are Protestant, we are excluded. I am fine with that because I understand them wanting to be with like-minded people. There is no exclusively Christian (believing that Christ is God, not a created being) or Protestant homeschool group where we live. It is okay to have different groups for different people of different faiths.

@momofmany In rereading my comment o can see my point wasn’t quite clear! My biggest complaint is the use of inflammatory KZbin videos titles to disparage another persons faith tradition. Every religion has disgruntled former believers who may have had painful experiences and/or have since chosen a different path. Why exploit that to get clicks and to bring down another religion? Differences are to be respected and can be disagreed with in more appropriate ways. As far as the co op situation goes, i brought that up to illustrate the damage division was can do to a community. You see, it is my firm and unchangeable belief that interfaith love and cooperation is far more effective than choosing to avoid interactions with those of different backgrounds. Boundaries can be put into place at co ops that allow for interfaith interaction while maintaining the preferred worldview of those who began the co op. Is that more difficult? Yes. Do problems arise? Of course. But is it beautiful? I think so. ♥️♥️

@@kerstenlindhardt1653 Thank you for taking the time to clarify for me. I do appreciate that. I have been watching this woman’s videos for quite some time and I will presume you have too. I do not know her in real life and have no correspondence or connection with her. From her online presence, I’ve never seen her do anything to exploit others or to do something disparaging for clicks or likes. You can probably see the irony in that your statement was inflammatory and disparaging against this woman and her husband. I believe you said it out of passion, not out of hatefulness. I agree with you that each religion will have people who have walked away. I think each of us should be able to share our testimony and faith journey. Do you agree that everyone should be allowed to share their testimony? This married couple is giving people a platform to speak about their Biblical faith. That is to be applauded. If the religion or faith is true and correct and the one way to Heaven, it won’t be able to be taken down. Not even by KZbin video titles.
@kerstenlindhardt1653
@kerstenlindhardt1653 6 ай бұрын
So much does get lost over the internet! I think the conversation we are attempting would go over MUCH better in person. I do believe they should share their testimony and I think that’s beautiful. I enjoy many Catholic and Protestant KZbin channels/books/podcasts that have greatly blessed me and strengthened my own testimony in God. I don’t think any religion has a monopoly on sharing goodness and light. I’ve been very grateful for Erin’s homeschool channel over the years and can see she has a beautiful love of God! But I can also point out my belief that some of her new channels video titles are, in my view, divisive. I don’t think a simple criticism of and disappointment in video titles in necessarily inflammatory, but that’s my view and you can disagree. Perhaps I should not have brought up my knee jerk reaction that I felt some disgust towards those video titles, as I do for many KZbin video titles from many channels, but otherwise I don’t think I’ve criticized Erin directly. My view is that we should be working towards interfaith cooperation in a world set on tearing down all forms of Christian belief! ♥️

@@kerstenlindhardt1653 Thank you for your comment, Kersten. I can honestly say that I'm glad that you did comment, because it gives me the opportunity to clarify and discuss this issue, which does have deep ramifications. I recognize that our choice of titles offended you. We wrestled for many hours to carefully and prayerfully choose what to include in the video (easily over 100 hours went into making this video), as well as what to title it, out of that exact worry that it might offend someone, not the least of whom are Charity's family who are all still members of the LDS church. Our choice of titles was not for vanity metrics but for the sake of wanting more people to hear about Jesus. We have always tried very hard to be welcoming and inclusive of everyone, as Jesus calls us to. However, loving others as Christ first loved us, can sometimes mean speaking the truth (out of deep care and concern) even when it runs the risk of offense. I believe most people would agree that Jesus himself was the most divisive person who ever lived (John 15:18), because he preached that there was only one way to salvation and that was through him. (John 14:6) Which we believe from the depths of our souls. As such, it would be the most unloving thing to do to keep the truth hidden away and not want others to know how they can be saved. As far as interfaith cooperation, while we can and should love and care for each other (Mark 12:31), the two faiths themselves teach very different things from each other. The Bible teaches that Jesus is God and has eternally existed as God (John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:16-2), that there is only one God (Mark 12:29). There have never been any gods before Him nor can man become a god like him, “…for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me” Isaiah 46:9b. Salvation is through faith in Christ and his grace alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9). This is different than the Jesus the LDS church believes in, which teaches that the father and son are separate beings (Joseph Smith - History 1:17). That God was a created being who once lived a mortal life and did enough good works to earn his way into becoming a god (“As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man may be” - President Lorenzo Snow.) That man can become a god. (Doctrine and Covenants 132:20-23.) That man is saved by grace after all he can do (2 Nephi 25:23). That Bible-believing Christians are part of the great abominable church of the devil (1 Nephi 14:10). Logically both the Mormon beliefs and the Christian beliefs about God cannot be true. Believing one faith is true necessarily means believing all other faiths are not true. Eternity hangs in the balance, and we love all people enough to be willing to face ridicule and hatred for the sake of Christ and making him known so that the lost can find salvation. Jeremiah 29:13 says "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." KJV. If you are willing to question and make sure that what you believe is true, I implore you to watch the loving and thoughtful documentary linked below with an open mind and heart. It features a Christian and an LDS member researching historical evidence and testing the prophecies in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to verify which one can be trusted. They also search for evidence that the Bible has been corrupted, as the LDS church teaches. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKPUnJSBr8SGicksi=l_1ZV9H78188bJOy Kersten, I don't know you personally, but do care for you very much. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I pray you will keep an open mind when considering everything that has been said here. Blessings to you and your family!

Your video would feel more holy (Christlike) if you would use more peaceful music. I don't know why you constantly interrupt your talk with this loud, chaotic music. Apart from that, I have really enjoyed your channel for the last 4 years. Your home is beautiful.

I often think back to David and Saul. If I had a nasty headache, what would I want to hear: harp✔️ chant✔️ soft singing. ✔️ Deffinately not drums❌️, and loud singing❌️ or records rubbing❌️ as dj's do.

I don't recall her doing that in the past...how odd. Maybe she's just experimenting with different things to see if something else might work better? Personally, I agree with you. I love her but it was jarring clicking on this and hearing THAT :-/

Christlike music doesn't necessarily needs to be angelic. Hillsong is a prime example.

@@backtoschool1611 Hillsong is a community Church. Huge in USA and there's a few in Australia.. but I'm pretty sure it's world wide. Their music/song is more upbeat than what you would experience, in say, a Catholic mass.
