I’ll be singing their sensational songs from now on. Hubby and I married in 1972 and will have been married for 53 years on Wednesday the 8th of January. One of the Best 1960s songs !! The only complaint is that songs were very short in those days!!
@stormytempest65212 жыл бұрын
Hello Douglas, Agree with you, a unique sound in fact, gets better with age, strange sound, just pure Talent and Hard practice, you can feel something Different in this track! Regards.
@wesleycook7687 Жыл бұрын
They were short because there was limited time on top 40 radio and lots of records to be played. Extended versions of later years were album cuts. It's true that some extended versions were played on the radio like Safety Dance for example. The Wall and Nights Without Satin were better in the 4 minute version. The long versions just included shouting , sound effects and extended instrumental segments.

For real. I love the Dave Clark Five but their albums are so short, like 20 minutes long almost each

I'm not going to lie, the only reason why I searched this band was because I'm a big Beatles fan, and in an interview from 1964 both John Lennon and Paul McCartney said that this was the band that they enjoyed listening the most, and now I can see why!!

When they got home to Britain after this show drummer Crumley (Curtis) and Pendergrast (Pender) lead guitar did the dirty. They conspired to have bass and singer Tony Jackson kicked out of Ithe group he formed in Liverpool in 1959.
@wesleycook7687 Жыл бұрын
He did leave but returned in the 70s for certain revival shows. He was ousted because of a drug problem. He might have helped form the group but Brian Jones also was kicked out of the Stones even though he was the founder. I've always heard that Mike Pender was the leader of the Searchers but you can hear anything. But, all the bands had conflict over the years so it might depend on what they were doing at the time.

Chris Curtis was the drummer, Mike Pender lead vocals (front man) and John McNally was lead guitar. Tony Jackson left shortly after this to be replaced by Frank Allen.
@ValeriePallaoro3 жыл бұрын
@@peterwatkins3502 You disagree with the original comment .. Me: *rushes off to google* Gottit! Chris Curtis is the drummer but "Mike Pender took the main lead vocal on the next two singles, both of which topped the UK charts: "Needles And Pins" and "Don't Throw Your Love Away", each featuring Chris Curtis on co-lead/high-harmony vocal. However, live footage of these songs, as performed on The Ed Sullivan Show and NME Poll Winners concert respectively, show Pender and Jackson singing the lead vocal together in close harmony, with vocal support from Curtis. That suggests some differences existed between the live band and the studio version at that time." I"ve never notice the drummer before but he's a hum dinger! That smile could light up a room.
