His mother Nancy Barbato died two years after him at the age of 101 years. RIP both of them, and Frank!

Must have been difficult living in the shadow of such a famous father but he seemed to embrace it, didn't try to run away from it. He was very talented too.

Disagree. He looked more like his dad when he aged. In his younger days he looked like mom.

He's got a similar style to his dad, who this song was associated with. I would love to see Connie Francis's segment on this episode as she sang some great songs, "With a Song in My Heart", "I Left My Heart in San Francisco", "You're Nobody 'til Somebody Loves You" and "Al Di La". Also, I'd love to see big band singer Helen Forrest sing "I've Heard that Song Before" with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra on this show.

In the 60's record companies pushed him to do rock and pop music, but that's not where his heart was. He is a fan of the old standards and big bands. He should have had a much bigger career than he did, but he got to conduct for his father, that must have been an honor. He is also so knowledgeable on a range of topics when he speaks.

Tough position to be in, singing the same songs and in the same arena as your dad. His sister took a different tack, singing in the then-more contemporary style popular at the time and she managed to chart a few hits. I think Jr. should've recorded more albums, as the handful he did are hard to obtain now.

@@Sacha_Kudli Perhaps Frank, Jr. inherited some of his mother's voice, however that sounded (not baritone).

It was bad enough for Junior that he was named Frank. It was doubly bad that he chose to sing his father's patented songs. Frankly, it was nuts that Junior covered "Nancy" about his sister.
@JudgeJulieLit4 ай бұрын
In above video, he covered "Nancy" about his mother. In another 1960s tv performance (perhaps the Sullivan show) he and sister Nancy, Jr. sang a lovely duet cover of "Somethin' Stupid," which she had recorded with her father. Their emoting of it made clear that their love was sibling affection (as in Donny and Marie duet covers of love songs). They did it as they had the harmonizing vocal talents to make it work.
