How to Practice with Compound Hunting Bow

thanks a lot for this video! I really enjoy watching your hunting shows! Me and my bow buddies will also practice for a situation where you might have to take a shot at a walking deer. We used a 4x4 board (approximately 5 ft Long) , Mount it to our deer target by putting two 5/8 bolts through the 4x4 board so that the bolts are sticking up on the top side of the 4x4 . Then we mounted two sets of training wheels on the front and back of the 4x4 , then attach the hundred foot pulling rope on the front of the 4x4. This has significantly helped us with our confidence with taking ethical, close walking shots( within 20 yards). Our goal is to never take a walking shot, but if the situation presents itself , then we will be ready!

Yeah it's been great practice! We practice different speeds, and distances so that way we train our brain to judge of how far to lead when we aim. And it's a blast!

There are circles on deer. If the deer you are shooting doesn't have circles its probably to old and will be to tough to eat.

I know you fellers had an elite Kure and now a bow tech I settled on the Kure the bow tech looks easy to tune to I don't trust my local bow shop did the bow tech tune easy and is it as smooth as the elite

People, don’t learn to draw your bow where you are low of the target or high of the target. WASTED TIME FINDING THE TARGET IN YOUR PEEP!!! Learn to draw where you are aiming already at the target as best you can and so that when you bring the release hand into position against your face or jawline you are basically on the target somewhere NOT BELOW OR ABOVE. And if you are using an index finger trigger release LEARN HOW TO SET IT UP WITH YOUR FINGER HOOKED DEEPLY OVER THE TRIGGER- note en in the first joint- deeper!,, And then learn to NOT MOVE THAT FINGER AND PULL THRU THE SHOT WITH YOUR BACK MUSCLES. Using the tip of your finger will lead to you anticipating the shot as your pin floats by the target spot and you will END UP PUNCHING THE DANG TRIGGER.
