Amy Rose took the Northeast Regional Train 95 from Philadelphia 30th Street Station to Richmond Staples Mill Road Station in which then continued to Newport News, ACS-64 621 to Washington DC Union Station and P42DC 124 to Richmond Staples Mill Road Station. Mrs. Rosslyn, her Nana, chose business class because she works at Oracle and booked the entire Richmond Trip on Amtrak.

Great video. Nice approach to LGA. At 14 :10 the Throgs Neck Bridge in background, At 14:50, Bronx Whitestone Bridge, at 15:00, Rikers Island Prison complex as you approach and land at Runway 22. Very cool! In the 1980s, it was often referred to as ‘LaGarbage’ Your takeoff from LGA was on runway 13, yet taking the route north before turning west then south over the Hudson river. Probably to avoid planes from JFK whose runways are aligned the same as LGA. Going southeast, then north, then west and finally south. 31:15 Throgs Neck Bridge again. Excellent views of NYC and the complicated approaches into all airports to keep the traffic apart from all the busy airports: Laguardia, Kennedy, Newark, Teterboro, Westchester County and Islip. But the views in those landing patterns are worth it!

Nice! Funny that you post this now since I flew into Richmond last Tuesday. Also I don't recall American operating out of Concourse D at LaGuardia (as I flew in and out of Gate D2 three months before you it seems) and remembered just Delta operating out of D. EDIT: I checked the map of LGA and I didn't know there was another Concourse D in Terminal B. Seems confusing to me.

Super 80's (MD-80) are so old, It's no wonder American works hard to keep them in service longer than they should, The same thing goes to Delta's Super 90's and the 717.
@TheElevatorChannel7 жыл бұрын
The 717s are just from the mid 2000s so they still have plenty of life in them. McDonnell Douglas had their issues, but their narrowbodies were built like tanks and seem to last forever :)

Awesome! Glad you're still doing these videos. I've watched all your hotel and trip report videos and thoroughly enjoy them. I too like to travel a lot, it's addicting. When I watch one of these videos it makes me feel like I am traveling again. I'm headed to Vancouver, BC and then to Las Vegas, NV in a couple weeks. I'll be sure to document those trips. I have a question. What is more comfortable, the ERJ-135/140/145 or the CRJ-100/200? I've been on the CRJ-100/200 many times and never found it to be comfortable at all, the seats are too narrow and cramped, and the windows are too low. I've never been on the ERJ, as none of the airlines in Canada use them. It seems like the ERJs are more comfortable, especially where you can get an individual seat on one side, plus it seems like the windows are larger and higher up, unlike on the CRJ-100/200.
@TheElevatorChannel7 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! And you're spot on. I'm not a fan of the CRJ line in terms of passenger comfort. Even the larger 700/900 models. Tomorrow I'm flying STL-PHL on a -200 and I'm dreading the experience already. The ERJ is a bit lacking in foot room at the window seats, but otherwise is as comfortable as any mainline plane as far as I'm concerned. And the single 'A' seats are fantastic.

I chuckled reading this thread, as I fly DCA-BDL and back pretty regularly, and always seem to get the Air Wis CRJ-200s out of gate 35X. Best aviation experience imaginable. The CR2 is my least favorite RJ when it comes to comfort, the ERJs offer a better experience.
@TheElevatorChannel7 жыл бұрын
Kamal 35X is legendary. I got stuck using that gate on a Republic E175 segment a few years ago. Which is weird because I thought it was more or less reserved for 50-seaters. The E-jet looked huge in the lineup of CR2s and Dash 8s. Air Wis is actually transitioning to United and will stop flying for AA next year. At PHL today there were almost as many Piedmont ERJs as there were Air Wis CR2s. Good news for AA flyers... but I'm dreading seeing those 60 CRJs enter the UAx fleet.

What happened with Maker Studios? Also, check this site here. [www.positionmusic.com/] - They offer music licenses for YT for just $20.(And I believe it gives you the option to monetize.) (You're not alone in having music licensing problems, i'm trying to find music for a short film that i'm trying to put in a few film festivals, and finding affordable music is becoming a major challenge! Not even mentioning the fact that I had to swap out 2/3 of the music tracks, due to the licensing sight apparently not being very reliable!)
@TheElevatorChannel7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. Quality of service went way downhill with Maker, so I decided that I'd come out ahead going independent and licensing music on my own (that was the only benefit I was still using with Maker). They ended up dumping like 95% of their partners the next month anyway, so I guess I would have been out either way. kotaku.com/some-youtubers-are-overjoyed-that-maker-studios-is-firi-1792854530

Will Stonehocker O'Hare is dangerously busy and incoherent in design, and is dangerously behind in maintenance. One remembers the power outage that disabled a huge piece of the air traffic control system. As a 30+ year IT professional, I am familiar with UPS systems and the technology has existed for decades such that that kind of outage can be made to never happen. I never fly through O'Hare.

You'd be in deep shit with a broken APU if you lost the engine providing power. A flight with a broken APU is not allowed by American parent or regional Eagle. You should report this to parent American. Eagle is always violating rules. I never fly them.
@TrololzillaOG7 жыл бұрын
Actually, the only restrictions regarding a broken APU is that the airport must have a ground start unit for the engines, and it will start one engine at the gate with several safety restrictions; otherwise there must be an aircraft swap. Otherwise, the only real restriction would be to the aircraft's ETOPS rating: as the ERJ-145 is a twin-engine plane and not ETOPS certified, it defaults to a 60-minute diversion range, much like the Boeing 737-500. Since the flight was always within 60 minutes of a suitable diversion airport (and over land), the lack of an APU, provided it was already filed to maintenance (which it definitely was) and the batteries are working, it's basically just a minor hassle (if you can survive not having AC while on the ground). "Other considerations for operating without an APU are airplane specific. For example, the EMB-145 has two generators per engine and one on the APU for a total of five generators. The airplane will revert to "essential" power if less than 3 generators are available which means you will lose certain displays and systems that become unpowered. This means if you had an engine failure during flight without an APU you will be in essential power and have to land in that condition because you cannot start the APU to get back up to 3 generators operating." The above goes along with what I've said: while losing an engine while in-flight would be a bad situation, the proximity to a suitable diversion airport would make it a fairly minor emergency.
@BrokebackBob7 жыл бұрын
Trololzilla The APU is essential to be in perfect working order. The only reason to violate this common sense is for some rich bastards to make more money off the passengers.
@TrololzillaOG7 жыл бұрын
BobEckert56 While the APU is a very important part of an airplane, what you said about the airline violating the law simply isn't true for the reasons I listed, and is tantamount to fear mongering.
@BrokebackBob7 жыл бұрын
Trololzilla Yes, I monger fear in people that they have lost their common sense and the rich could care less about their safety to the point of privatizing the ATC system.
@TrololzillaOG7 жыл бұрын
BobEckert56 Look, I have pointed out precisely why it isn't illegal to fly without an APU, and why the risk is hardly more than any other time you fly. Call the rich evil if you will, but NO company would that blatantly risk lives for the simple fact that they would lose a shit-ton of money and respect (i.e. even more money due to lack of consumer confidence resulting in loss of business). While the regionals might not have the same standards as mainline, if they have the branding of the mainline, then all people will see is that branding ergo the mainline companies do their damndest to prevent accidents from occurring at regional affiliates. As to the privatization of ATC: I'm not sure I entirely understand your aversion to it. It's done that way in plenty of western countries, including Canada, and works just as well. You can simply Google how the ATC system is set up in Canada to see how it works - there's no reason to think that, if set up similarly, it couldn't work in this country (note that this is NOT support of such a system for here, I'm merely pointing out that you need to have all the facts before you should form an opinion on anything). BTW I'm vehemently anti-Trump, so if that's the only reason your aversion stems from then please change your mindset.
