I strongly feel an instance of jealousy from women like this. They get threatened by their daughters because they see they're physically growing into their prime (teen/young adult). While the mothers are either beginning to grow or has already grown out of their prime and aren't seen as desirable by men anymore. So what do they do? See their daughters as competition and try to go after young men that don't know any better.

Forget “You can’t choose who you love”, that’s not love at all. I think the mother is definitely jealous of her daughter. She seems like one of those people who want to live vicariously through their kids or are obsessed with youth. That boy wasn’t even the age of consent when they started “dating” and was groomed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he “cheated” on her cause he’s probably seeing other guys his age and the people that they’re dating; Plus other women who are actually his age. She needs psychological help cause this is not normal, and I hope that man’s psyche is okay.
