Today I review the NEW Chicken Al Pastor Bowl from Chipotle®! ($12.10)
Prepared in small batches throughout the day, Chicken al Pastor features chicken, seasoned with a marinade of Chipotle’s signature adobo, morita peppers and ground achiote with a splash of pineapple. It’s finished with fresh lime, and hand-chopped cilantro to create a well-balanced flavor with just the right amount of heat. Chipotle’s new chicken is juicy and aromatic with slightly smoky notes and a hint of fruitiness that evokes the flavor of traditional al pastor.
The launch of Chicken al Pastor represents the first time the brand has launched a new menu innovation worldwide.
Available for a limited time, Chicken al Pastor joins Chipotle’s menu of customizable burritos, burrito bowls, salads, quesadillas, and tacos.
To celebrate the debut of Chicken al Pastor, Chipotle is offering a $0 delivery fee on all Chicken al Pastor orders placed through the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com from March 16 through March 26, 2023 in the US.

I worked at Chipotle a few years ago, and their food quality is pretty high. Yeah, the actual portion sizes aren't always great, but consider that they're made to also go into a burrito and that can only hold so much. People tend to order extra everything which (a) impacts the cost/profits and (b) tends to overstuff the burritos to where they tear or fall apart. Pro tip: only order a little extra of the "key" things you like, not every item, if you get a burrito. Pro tip 2: get a bowl (or salad) not a burrito and order as much extra as you can get away with, lol! I got this yesterday and I liked it. I've had pork al pastor many times, but never chicken al pastor. Nice flavor! I'd put it third in terms of taste after their barbacoa and carnitas. Thanks for this! ~Be Blessed

If you order it as a salad, it's exactly the same thing except the lettuce is on the bottom and there is an option to include the dressing at no cost.

Fun Fact: I like to ask for a small tortilla at the bottom of a bowl so at the end of eating the bowl I can finish with a taco.

Oh dang... $12 for a bowl now?.. I haven't had Chipotle in over 3 yrs, my last bowl was so terrible and lacking in ingredients... then the workers literally left because they could get paid more to stay home I guess. Crazy times! But I'm seeing more and more people saying it's good again.

Man I think Chipotle is ok but nothing special, I will say I went chicken for years and randomly tried the Carnitas pork bowl, WAY BETTER as it doesn’t have any chewy stuff like I’ve gotten so many times with their chicken. Also that vinaigrette is amazing.

Al Pastor is marinated PORK, not chicken. Chipolte is so white-bread in their approach. Asking for extra rice is like asking for them to put no meat on your burrito.
