Isn't the whole Aela/Skjor thing that their "hunt" is special because they do it in there wherewolve form. Explaining why they have to keep it descrete for both other members who don't know about the beast blood and just random people as well as the threat of the silver hand? Both carry pride in their powers as wherewolves (as seen by Aela not wanting to get "cured") and Skjor eventually dies after one of their hunts...as he got captured and skinned by the silver hand. but hey, that's just a theory...

*Werewolves. I believe it's based on how "were" was an indication of sex. Wereman for males and wifman for females (humans of course I didn't want to confuse matters with "wereman means man" or something) Although after looking into this it would appear that "wer" meant man so unless wereman means man-man I could be wrong. However, "were" could mean male and "man" mean human (as "were" is believed to be derived form "wer" meaning man) while "wif" means female and "man" the same again. (Looked it up and someone on Quora says the same thing)

I think that the hunt that Kodlak wouldn't like is actually them two hunting the silver hand, in the quest it tells about how Kodlak frowned on it for the fact that it would cause them to maybe try for revenge and attack as they did.

Given that eating human hearts is how you level up your werewolf abilities, I am guess Aela and Skjor are hunting humans. They may be going after bandits or silver hands to avoid detection. This would explain why Kodlac doesn't like it. In the scene where Aela talks about a bear, Kodlac is ok because it is an animal.

Good idea, the only problem I can think of with this is iirc Werewolves didn’t feed (or at the very least didn’t skill trees) until dawnguard was released so becoming more powerful may not have been the original implications

I always thought the implication was that they were out hunting *as Werewolves*, and that the rumors simply misinterpreted it as a fling. Skjor and Aela are, after all, the most enthusiastic about their lycanthropy among the inner circle.

Remember there are only two female candidates aside from Aela, while Four Marriageable Males, I think. I know for Certain Vilkas, Farkas, and Athis can Be Married, and I believe leather Armor Guy can also be Married. Ria, and Njada I don't remember if they can be Married.

Favorite Random Encounter: Downloaded a random encounter mod and bumped into the companions in the middle of the hotsprings by Windhelm. Immediately afterwards we are attacked by: 2 dragons 3 giants I don't know how many goblins (used falmer as a base) A clan of bandits 1 minotaur I shouted off a cliff and who floated down the nearby river until it got to shore and tracked me down. Afterward the three companions (Farkus, Ria, and Athas) and I were standing in a field of corpses, I looked over, was invited to Jorrvasker, and had never felt more epic in any other moment of Skyrim.

The 'hunts' that Skjor and Aela are referring to are their hunting of the Silver Hand, which they bring you along for when you become a werewolf. It isn't forbidden to hunt the enemies of the Companions, but Kodlak disapproves - as he can be heard telling Aela. And Kodlak turns out to be right, since it gets Skjor killed and encourages the Silver Hands to attack the Companions directly. Not saying that Aela and Skjor AREN'T a couple, but I don't feel like she would lie about it. I think they had a father-daughter relationship, given the age gap.

At first I was worried, but then I saw it happen again outside of Winterhold and found myself relieved that I hadn't ended his adventuring days by moving him into my house.

Okay, Skjor and Aela are taking some hunting trips kept secret from most of the companions together and there is something that Kodlak would be opposed to involved. I am inclined to believe that the secretive nature has nothing to do with romance, though that is what most Companions are assuming, thus the rumors. What I think is more likely is that they are transforming into werewolves for these hunts, and embracing their inner beasts. Something that Kodlak isn't keen on, as he has come to view it as a curse, and Skjor and Aela are the only members of the circle who embrace their lycanthropy strongly. Kodlak wants to be cured, Vilkas heeds Kodlak's wisdom on the matter, and Farkas will do what ever Vilkas thinks is right. Now the reason Skjor and Aela hunting as werewolves would be a secret to the rest of the companions is because only the circle, the highest ranking members are the only ones who carry the curse/blessing, and keep it secret from the lower ranking members.

Aela mentions that she's been covering for the Dovahkin if you go back to see her before finishing a Silver Hand quest. On number 4: If this one were between any other NPCs in the entire game, the most logical conclusion would be as you insinuated. Between Aela and Skjor however, the truth of the matter is most likely less pleasant. When they say that they're going out for a "hunt" together, without giving a specific quarry, they most likely mean that they're going out to hunt in their beast forms. Kodlak wouldn't approve of this, as he firmly believes that the Companion's lycanthropy is a curse, and that it should be indulged as little as possible.

Hey, the Skorr/Aela conversations and dynamic have nothing (or almost nothing) to do with romance and everything to do with them being werewolves. The hunts are literal werewolf hunts, Kodlk is no fan of Daedra worship, they have to keep it under wraps because werewolves are not generally accepted.

Skor and Aela...I always took it as their hunts involved transforming. This issue is one that divided the circle. So it isn't the hunt itself but rather the fact that Aela and Skor revel in the werewolf transformation when Kodlak feels they should not transform and even seek a cure.

Other than that, I've never noticed any reference to them being lovers. They're the oldest in the group, who embrace the beast blood. So theyre kind of "seconds in command", if that makes sense. And just prefer hanging their company over to the others. Especially with the Silver Hand about trying to murder them.

See, this is why I love the companions over all other factions. They feel unique to Skyrim, as opposed to the other factions which could have been planted in any other Kingdom (barring the name Winterhold). And the fact that they are really layered when it comes down to it. Where it concerns Aela and Skjor, my first initial leaning is that they are in a relationship. Yet I think it more likely that what it really boils down to is that they are turning into Werewolves and prowling the countryside, or even going beyond Skyrim for their hunts. Kodlak wouldn't like this because they are choosing to live part time as werewolves, as opposed to trying to restrain the inner beast. And of course, they are spreading panic whenever they are seen in such forms. Werewolves are able to travel faster than normal people, and farther - so going after a bear in Hammerfell wouldn't be so taxing a journey for them. I honestly think the latter is a better explanation because it is a better reason for Kodlak to have qualms than a lover's retreat. It would also make more sense since Aela did not have such a great reaction to Skjor's death than would be expected of a lover. She did want to avenge him, but this felt more like going after the people who killed a friend.

I really hope you see this because I have a mystery that you should check out. Northwest of Solitude is a cave called "Shadowgreen Cavern", filled with animals and spriggans. Near the entrance to the open area is a small pool of water and at the bottom, a skeleton. What makes this weird is, he has a greatsword as well as a shield. Unless he could hold a greatsword with one hand, there is no reason he should of had the shield

I think Skor and Aela's "hunting trips" might involve something a bit darker and more sinister than romantic intent. The Companions make it plain that everyone should hunt with a shield-sibling, so there's nothing wrong with that, but I think Skor and Aela are "hunting" humans. They turn into werewolves and kill people. I think that is why Kodlak is against it, because he sees their affliction as a curse, whereas Skor and Aela see it as a blessing, so why wouldn't they indulge in it from time to time.

Skjor and Aela are likely hunting as werewolves, which is why Kodlak would disapprove. Also, I once ran into Athis and Torvar near Bonestrew Crest, and they had a hunting dog with them. I also found Vilkas and Ria on the way to Saarthal, taking down a Snow Bear.

I thought that Aela and Skjor were hunting Silver Hand members and that was what Kodak objected to. Seeing as they both cherish the beast blood, and Aela and Skjor initiate the dragonborn with an expedition to clear out one of their forts. Although there does definitely seem to be a romantic edge to it, as the "rumors" mentioned suggest. Maybe they bond over vanquishing a common enemy. Also, and interestingly, I've found Vilkas, Farkas, and one other member (I don't remember who) wandering around Saarthal. They all ran down toward the ruin and then just stood there. When I tried to initiate dialogue they just said the generic "hmm?" and "need something?" remarks. No explanation or reference as to why they were at the historic site.

Not really sure why the Aela/Skjor theory is so popular. The "hunt" in question would simply be the two hunting (possibly Silver Hand) in their Werewolf forms. If it were anything else, the Silver Hand likely wouldn't be your enemy. Somewhat unrelated: has anyone else had Skjor come back, after installing Dawnguard? Having finished the Companions questline prior to doing so, I was rather surprised to see him. I did think something was up however, when Aela greeted me with the "Something has shifted in the moons, brother" line. This was on the PS3 a few years back.

Aela & Skjor.. it may be that they hunt the Silverhand but they also do it as were wolves .. at the very begining when you ask kodlak if you can join he is having a conversation with Vilkas.. V ilkas is telling Kodlak he has him and his brother's word but not sure about the others (Aela and Skjor) . Kodak wants them not to give in to the urge to hunt as were wolves

I think the Aela/Skjor romance is a misinterpretation. I think the hunts they have to be discreet about are them particularly hunting The Silver Hand, and Kodlak doesn’t approve because it’s an escalation that could blow back on The Companions. This seems likely because that’s exactly what happened.

With the last fact, I was once in the marsh doing the tree mission for white run, when out of nowhere two dragons spawned in. This was when I was a lower level so I thought I was screwed and then a bear showed up and all of a sudden there was the companions and the helped me slay all the beasts. About Aela and Skjor its been confirmed I don't remember where, but they embrace the werewolf inside of them and go hunt people of whiterun so they do have a kinda maybe relationship but they are just hunting in werewolf form and Kodlak doesn't like that.
